Bug#1067151: xen-utils-common: vif-openvswitch ignores MTU
Package: src:xen
Version: 4.17.3+10-g091466ba55-1~deb12u1
Severity: wishlist
I wasn't sure if this script comes from Debian or Xen or somewhere else,
so I thought it safest to report it here.
/etc/xen/scripts/vif-bridge handles MTU settings in the vif, but the
otherwise similar /etc/xen/scripts/vif-openvswitch does not. I added it
in, here's the diff-c and the full fixed file is also

macvtap and tagged VLANs to the VM
Hi,
I would like to run a network firewall as a VM on a KVM host. There are
~ 25 VLANs delivered to the KVM host on three dedicated links, no LACP
or other things. I have the VLANs 100-180 on the host's enp1s0, the VLANs
200-280 on the host's enp2s0 and the VLANs 300-380 on the host's enp3s0.
To save myself from configuring all VLANs on the KVM host, I'd like to
hand the entire

This applies to libxenstore3.0 as well, which includes a description

Samba seem to work fine but "cannot find my workgroup"
Hi,
I setup a new samba file server (in a priviledged Proxmox container using
the Debian 12 template) and apparently it works fine.
In log I see every 10 seconds:
write_browse_list: Fatal error - cannot find my workgroup DMYDOM
Google found one hint telling it should set "network = ip", but man page
does not explain such an option. Another hint suggests it could be related

domain/number line/range reduction problem
Hello,
Currently I'm only coming up with brute force solutions to this issue.
Wondering if anyone knows of a better way to do this.
The problem: I have endpoints of one x range (x_rng) and an unknown number
of s ranges (s[#]_rng) also defined by endpoints. What I want are the parts
of the x ranges that don't overlap the s ranges. The examples below
demonstrate what I mean. I'm

Asterisk & X100P in Finland?
Greetings, fellow Asterisk users!
I'm having problems with Asterisk and Digium's X100P (using kewlstart) in
Finland - Asterisk doesn't detect POTS hangup. I've modified
indications.conf according to the Finnish specifications (well, I think I
got the specs correctly :-), but still no go..
Has anybody used * in Finland? Does your * detect POTS hangup (which

Bug#466683: xenstore-utils: The package description doesn't say what the utilities contained in the package are for.
Package: xenstore-utils
Version: 3.2.0-3
Severity: minor
Description: Xenstore utilities for Xen
This package contains the Xenstore utilities.
I would hope that there would be a more descriptive description
for this package, so I could know if I really need it.
(Yes, I'm a newbie to the world of XENU ... I suppose I would
already know if I wasn't new to this.)

FWIW, most distributions switched to openssl3 quite some time ago.
Eg, current libssl in Debian is of version 3.0.11-1~deb12u1.
You did not provide any other useful info. Two of the most important

Updating OpenSSL from 1.x to 3 breaks kinit
Samba is built with the recommended heimdal kerberos.
Samba version: 4.18.8
OpenSSL version: 3.0.11
The AD was created with samba 4.5.x (?) and updated continuously.
I guess I need to update the old rc4 "secrets" somehow....

Patch for auto-creating home directories
I've created a patch that adds a feature that is helpful to my setup. If
'parent_dir_umask' is set in the configuration file, any missing
directories in the home directory path are created.
The home directory itself is created according to the 'umask' setting,
'parent_dir_umask' is only used for intermediate directories that might
need creating.
This is useful to me,
