This error just showed up yesterday --- I have no idea how I caused

How much of Wine Explorer is functional?
I wanted to play music in VLC for Windows off a network SMB share. [*]
Music's on \\red\trollop\music\ so I put that into VLC and it didn't
like it.
So I started "wine explorer" from the command line and went to
"Connect network drive ..." and it came up with a dialogue box: "No
network" - that's all.
Is this actually supposed to work properly, or is

Why RSpec?
I like Shoulda. Sometimes I like plain old Test::Unit. Cucumber
gives me a different thought process.
I''d just like to hear some thoughts on why RSpec? What does it buy me
that I can''t get with Shoulda? I just can''t seem to think in RSpec.
Where is there a good example of RSpec tests that will help me grasp
the right path?
Thanks!

Troubles with using gems in Rails
Hi!
I''m observing some problems using gem inside Rails. My understanding is
that after following sequence in irb:
$ irb
irb(main):001:0> require ''rubygems''
=> true
irb(main):002:0> require ''active_record''
=> true
irb(main):003:0> gem ''acts_as_taggable''
=> true
I should have access to acts_as_tagable mixins, like:

unicorn_rails and rails 2.3.8
First off, I love unicorn. Thanks to all who have worked on it.
For the first time, I am trying to run a rails 2.3 app with unicorn. I don''t understand what is not set correctly. I have rails 2.3.8 and dependencies installed. I am sure it is something simple.... See output below.
Much thanks!

[Cucumber] Level of features / Feature dependent steps
Forgive the long post, just looking for input/advice/alternate
opinions..
Like many I think that going through the exercise of framing user
requests in Cucumber terms(Features, Scenarios..) really helps
facilitate necessary conversations and avoid time wasted implementing
the wrong thing(e.g. as a requirement/specification tool). However,
I''m a bit confused when it comes to

Segfault on read.socket with long message
I'm trying to implement a connection between two processes using a
simple socket mechanism. The messages are rather long object stored as
JSON.
R is crashing with a segmentation fault when I try to read my test
message (which is 5305 bytes long). I first send the length in bytes
and then I send the actual message.
Here is my R code:

how to spec views
I''m trying to spec a view but haven''t done much view specing.
This view render different partials depending on authentication of the user:
annon, admin, player
So I I''ll write if conditionals in the view with the partials
it "should render signup propaganda for annon users trying to view games"
do
render "/games/index.rhtml"

`OcrBarcode #{self.temp_file_path}`

And this is my (newbish) attempt at the spec:

Problems running features with Textmate Cucumber bundle
I finally plunked down for the beta RSpec bundle and I''m working
through the initial example. Although I''m a fairly experienced RSpec
user, I''m stlll learning new tricks.
Anyway, I''m going though the mastermind example, and everything is
going well, except that I decided to also try out the Textmate bundle
for Cucumber. I decided to use Ben Mabey''s

[Cucumber] Running single feature from command line
I am using Cucumber 0.2.3 and am having problems running a single
feature. In particular, the cucumber Textmate bundle was not working
so I traced it back and discovered that I could not run single files
or features from the command line either. My setup has the following
line in cucumber.yml
default: -r features/support/env.rb -r features/support/plain.rb -r

I also ran the following in the Ruby shell:

These commands seemed to create the expected features and lib folders
in my project.
I''m using the eclipse framework with Aptana and RadRails as my IDE.

Segfault on read.socket with long message
Thanks for the link.? Somehow the information about how to join the
bugzilla site was not available at bugzilla and buried in the CRAN web
site instructions on reporting bugs (which pointed me at Bugzilla and
not the page you showed me).
The example is pretty minimal.? I left the tracing statements

Dear Rich,
I think that it's generally a bad idea to give statistical (as opposed to simply technical) advice by email without knowing the context of the research. I think that you'd do well to seek help from a statistician, and not just do what I suggest below.
Interpolating the data only makes sense if there's no random component to the response (mag in your data). Otherwise, it

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place for general questions on BDD
style, but here goes...
I have a class which behaves almost like a big function - you always
instantiate it with a bunch of args, and call one of a couple of
methods to get the results back.
BDD style seems to like a separate describe block for each
instantiation of the class under test. In this case that would mean a
