3.0.22-solaris10 - Please help !
Hi !!
I have already sent this message to the list, but, as I have not
received
any replies, I am trying again !!
I have Samba 3.0.22 running as PDC on solaris10.
Each time a windows client (XP SP2 or W2003) opens an explorer to access
a share, I see in the log.smbd :
[2006/06/15 01:28:08, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr(1225)
getpeername failed. Error was Invalid argument

That's correct. There was a bug fixed after 2.4 release.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc (pre-release and svn sources) fails to compile on Solaris10/SPARC
I am new to LLVM, and I'm trying to compile llvm and llvm-gcc from
subversion on a Solaris10/SPARC machine. I have already tried building
llvm-2.4 on this machine, but it failed.
I then tried the subversion sources (rev. # 65253 fro llvm and
rev#65263 for llvm-gcc) and llvm at least builds correctly ( I however
have not tried testing it!). I can execute binaries located in

[LLVMdev] PPC64 old JIT support
Hello there!
I'm intending to port LLVM old JIT API for PPC64le once I wiil need this support in one of my applications. Would a port of this old piece of code be merged on LLVM 3.5, even though it is on the verge of obsoleteness?
Thank you!

XenServer 6: Is it a bug? - NO output of: xe vm-import filename=Solaris10-extended-HVM-template
Hello,
It is strange. There is no output and the imported VM (template) is not
visible with "xe vm-list" or "xe template-list". The file is an exported
template.
What do I miss? Thank you in advance for any hints.
Regards, mark

Dovecot 2.3.6 on Solaris10: build issues, segfaults
Hopefully, there is some fix for issue 3 which is beyond my
skill to fix.
Issue 1) Need recent gcc version
Building Dovecot versions <=2.2.x using gcc 3.4.4 worked,
but this gcc version fails to build 2.3.x properly: symptoms
include compile failures and executable crashes that depended
on the amount of optimization used, which is usually a sign of
compiler bugs. (It could also be

Please help with Samba on Solaris10
Hi
I'm having lots of problems getting Samba to work on Solaris.
First I tried the version which comes with Solaris10: 3.0.30.
It almost did work, but a user could not _rename_ files.
Next try was with 3.4.0. Unfortunately winbindd tried to _modify_ idmap
entries in my LDAP server to make them be from the UID range defined in smb.conf.
WHY? What's the idea behind it?
Winbindd also

Problems (Panic) with 3.2.0rc1 on Solaris10/ADDomainMember
Hi list
I am having difficulties with 3.2.0rc1 on a Solaris10
server.
After unsuccessfully trying once again to get winbindd to
run in our environment (AD, SFU), we resorted back to the old
solution of syncing the nss infos from AD down to the Unix
passwd and group files by a perlscript and doing only
authentication against the Active Directory.
Now, I have other problems, however.

Inherited ACLs can not be removed on Solaris10 sparc
Hi,
I have a problem with the removal of inheritance ACLs of subdirectories.
It almost sounds like only adding ACLs work but removals of inheritance
ACL's not.
By default the access rights (including ACLs) should be inherited, but
it should also be possible to remove the access rights from any
subdirectory.
This is what I am trying to do, I have a share called media with some

[LLVMdev] PPC64 old JIT support
3.5 was already released, and we only merge bug fixes to release branches.
Caio, do you really need it on 3.5 specifically or are you just asking
if folks are interested to get it into the trunk?

Help needed: valid users
Hi
I'm using Samba 3.0.33 on Solaris10 and have the following problem.
In the smb.conf I have
workgroup = CORPROOT
security = domain
and users authenticated to CORPROOT domain can connect shares
w/o problems, [homes] for example.
Now I would like to create a share and restrict access to it just
to a dozen of users or so.
I tried
valid users = +docs
force user = usodocs
