Definitive guide to setting up FTPIS on vsftpd
I have a new CentOS 7.4 (recently upgraded to 7.5) system that I have been struggling with in configuring vsftpd for FTPS Implicit (port 990).
(The latest instructions I've used are at: https://www.unixmen.com/configure-vsftpd-ssltls-centos-7/)
Using Filezilla client, I get:
Error: GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.

Hi everyone,

Limiting simultaneous sftp downloads..
When I use Filezilla... the default setup will download two files in the
queue
at the same time.
What I would notice is sometimes I could really hear my harddrive thrashing
as it scanned over the disk trying to get data from both files.
Now... it is quite possible that filezilla performs two logins... but it
seems
like it is performing the operations over the same connection. There is a

Can you reproduce this bug on wine-20050930 like me?
Can you reproduce this bug? Follow these steps:
1. Install Filezilla:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/filezilla/FileZilla_2_2_16_setup.exe?download
2. FTP into the server of your choice
3. Click and drag files from the server to your local
machine (to copy them)
4. Realize now that even though the files have been
copied to your machine, you are still dragging the
files around

big packets?
I apologize if I'm missing the obvious, but does anyone know what causes
sshd: channel 0: rcvd big packet 32281, maxpack 16384
The immediate cause seems to be van dyke's windows sftp client. The
larger question would seem to be why it's using larger packets than
openssh wants to accept. (client is SecureFX 3.3, server is openssh

ssh issues with centos 6
I have a new centos 6 install. Randomly i get out of memory messages and
my ssh file transfer dies. I have tried this in filezilla as well as
winscp. I have disabled motd in ssh and i also had entropy problems so i
enacted rngd -r /dev/urandom -o /dev/random but did not stop the out of
memory errors. I am seeing the below in the logs. It only occurs during
ssh file transfers.

Directory listing fails for specific user
Hello,
We have recently had a new problem with one of the users on one of our servers.
Filezilla claims it connects and authenticates, but then fails to list the directory (although no error message is output, it just eventually times out. There is the full output of filezilla located here: http://pastebin.com/tAVcSP8Y.

[Bug 5124] Parallelize the rsync run using multiple threads and/or connections
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5124
--- Comment #8 from Michael <michael.williams at infatech.co.nz> ---
+1 from me on this.
We have several situations where we need to copy a large number of very small
files, and I expect that having multiple file transfer threads, allowing say ~5
transfers concurrently, would speed up the process considerably. I expect that
this would also

Definitive guide to setting up FTPIS on vsftpd
Followup:
I gave up on the Implicit and configured vsftpd for Explicit, that revealed some configuration errors (displayed on the client, Filezilla in my case). I then corrected these errors and switched back to Implicit and all is well.

Starting tcpdump increases Samba performance 20 times
Hello, first post here from me.
I have performance problems with Samba (3.0.22-1ubuntu3.1) on Ubuntu 6.06,
fully updated. I get < 10 Mbit/sec over a GBit LAN, transferring files from
Windows Server 2003 SP1 (or XP SP2) to Samba shares. The Ubuntu server is
running on a P4 3.6 GHz with 2 GB RAM, the Win2k3 is running in a virtual
machine on VMWare ESX 3.0.1. I have verified the problem on a Win

FTPS setup problem
Hi!
I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong with a "simple" FTPS setup
and VSFTPD.
I saw references on Google and tried, and tried, and tried... without
success.
I'll start by explaining my situation: I have a WEB development server
behind a firewall. It's currently only for the intranet. We now have
an external company that will have to do a new website

ftp ftom outside the local network
I have Centos3.3 installed, vsftpd, apache2, ports 20&21 open on router,
firewall disabled at this time :
/etc/passwd looks like this --- ftpadmin:x:502:502::/var/www:sbin/noligin
uncommented the lines in /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf :
chroot_list_enable=YES
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list
I can access ftp from within network no problem, but using external ip it
will validate login
