Help a n00b?
So I''m trying to do that hot new thing with AJAXy forms: http://idiet.toasterwaffles.com/foods/list Here''s the relevant code in list.rhtml (for the form portion) <tbody> <%= render_collection_of_partials "list_stripes", @foods %> </tbody> <tfoot> <tr id="addFood"><%= form_remote_tag( :html =>

Rails newbie: How does the submit_tag work?
I would appreciate any and all input. The Agile book is not useful in this context. :o( As near as I can tell, it doesn''t work at all. I would expect that clicking on the [Next Question] button in the browser would fire the next_question method in the current controller. Instead, it (apparently) does nothing. The tag in question <%= submit_tag ''Next

Help please
Getting this error: SyntaxError in CompanyController#positionslist (eval):1:in `compute_type'': compile error (eval):1: parse error, unexpected tINTEGER Object::2 I could not find anything out about it (googling) and it''s not the clearest error message. Not sure if it''s related to an expected data type but that wouldn''t make sense. The only other thing I can

table sorting/manipulation library?
I have a library I''ve developed that I believe is the most flexible and useful table sorting/striping/row-selecting library around. Big features: Single and multiple-level sort Arbitrary sort criteria (IP address, date, etc.) Works with table headers that are > 1 row or column large Stripe tables and/or enable row selecting Row selecting supports drag-select and SHIFT-click No extra

Ready to call this a bug
I''ve been trying to get a handle on AJAX today and am ready to call "BUG!" I started with the code from Curt''s "AJAX on Rails". It used <ul="my_list"> and <li> and worked fine. Except I need a table instead of a list. So I did the simplest thing that I thought could possibly work. In the view, I changed the :position attribute from

ajax with tables
There may be an easy solution, but I just can''t seem to get this to work... I''m using tables for part of my site, as they contain a lot of rows and columns full of financial data, so just working with div''s and dd''s... etc, won''t do. My table structure is pretty simple, as follows: ================= <table id="items"> <tr>

[AWDwR] Confused about has_one and has_many
Heya everyone! I am quite new to Rails and I am reading AWDwR. I am at Task E "Check Out!". I understand it quite well, but I have a problem with the last playground exercise: Add a Table which contains the payment types. All goes well, but I am not sure whether I should use has_many or has_one(as in the Playground wiki at http://wiki.pragprog.com/cgi-bin/wiki.cgi/PT-E-3). I use the

RJS - Insert at top of table?
Quick question regarding RJS and inserting to the top of a table. Here''s the view I''m working with: <table id="links-list"> <tr> <th>Display title</th> <th>URL</th> <th>Description</th> <th>Category</th> </tr> <% for link in @links %> <tr id="link-<%= h link.id

[PATCH server] Update app to work with rails 2.3.2
Note that this does not fix gettext for app, that will be done separately in another patch as F10/F11 require different setups for that. In the meantime gettext works if manually changed in environment.rb to gettext_rails instead of gettext/rails Signed-off-by: Jason Guiditta <jason.guiditt at gmail.com> --- src/app/controllers/application.rb | 200 --------

Upgrade server to run on Rails 2.3.2/F11
Note that one of the 8 patches (#6) will be sent separately in reply to this email, as some of the replaced lines are too long, so git won't let me send the email. However, there is nothing wrong with that patch, and it should be applied in the sequence listed below. Note also that I assume this will be tested on a clean f11 install, rather than an upgrade of an existing ovirt server
