Merge data frame and keep unmatched
Hi,
With two data sets, one complete and another one partial, I would like to
merge them and keep the unmatched lines. The problem is that merge() dosen't
keep the unmatched lines. Is there another function that I could use to
merge the data frames.
Example:
completedf <- expand.grid(alpha=letters[1:3],beta=1:3)
partdf <- data.frame(
alpha= c('a','a','c'),

Type unmatched after replacing functions
Hi all,
I am trying to merge functions with the same debug location by
using replaceAllUsesWith().
However, this leads to type unmatched problems because the
functions with the same debug location can have different parameters.
An example is foo(struct A) can be compiled to foo.1(struct A.1) and
foo.2(struct A.2).
I have inserted CastInst to solve the problems of arguments and return
values type

Finding unmatched data between two dataframe using several factors
Hi R users
I am trying to find unmatched data from two dataframes. I would like to
find unmatched data based on several factors. For the following data:
dat1 <- data.frame(x = paste("A", 1:6, sep=""),
y = c("andy","bob","ciaran","dan", "eion",
"fred"))

Logwatch reporting spamassassin messages as unmatched entries
I've recently switched to using spamassassin via a sendmail milter,
rather than using procmail to invoke it. This means that I get a number
of messages appearing in my maillog, and then being reported by logwatch
as unmatched entries.
An example of such a messages is:

Re ad in a file - produce independent vectors
Is there a way of reading in a file in a way that each line becomes a vector:
for example:
meals.txt
breakfast bacon eggs sausage
lunch sandwich apple marsbar crisps
dinner chicken rice custard pie
I want to read in this file and end up with 3 different vectors, one called
breakfast which contains "bacon", "eggs", sausage" One called

Shouldn't the \usage section tell the truth?
Hi,
The signature of mget() changed between R-2.15.1 and recent R-devel.
In R-2.15.1:
> args(mget)
function (x, envir, mode = "any", ifnotfound = list(function(x)
stop(paste0("value for '",
x, "' not found"), call. = FALSE)), inherits = FALSE)
NULL
In R-devel:

function (x, envir, mode = "any", ifnotfound

mget(missingArgument)?
Currently, when mget() is used to get the value of a function's argument
with no default value and no value in the call it returns the empty name
(R_MissingArg). Is that the right thing to do or should it return
'ifnotfound' or give an error?
E.g.,
> a <- (function(x) { y <- "y from function's environment";
mget(c("x","y","z"),

local variable assignment: first copies from higher frame?
hi all -- this might not be the correct list for this
question/discussion, though R-help didn't seem like the correct venue,
either, so...
i'm looking for just some extra clarification of how local variables
are defined/bound, beyond the simple cases given in the Language
document.
the particular instance is when there is variable assignment inside a function.
normally, this creates a

mget empty strings
Dear R community,
I am a beginner to R and have a question concerning mget, about I could
not find anything in the various documentation.
I have a column in a dataframe x for which I want to get values in y:
mget(x[,1], env=y, ifnotfound=NA)
I receive an error mesage:
Error in mget(x[, 1], env = y, ifnotfound = NA) :

Stability unmatched!
I never did solve my "puzzle" as to how to kill a Linux process that seems
to be deadlocked in kernel space, but thought I would report to the list
that the server did manage to stay up and continue to process several
thousand calls per day:

automatic forced zpool import with unmatched hostid
Hi,
since hostid is stored in the label, "zpool import" failed if the hostid dind''t match. Under certain circonstances (ldom failover) it means you have to manually force the zpool import while booting. With more than 80 LDOMs on a single host it will be great if we could configure the machine back to the old behavior where it didn''t failed, maybe with a /etc/sytem

Rspec not finding my examples
I am following the examples in chapter 2 of "Rails 3 in Action" and
for some reason I have to specify the full path + file name to get my
specs to run. The book and rspec docs led me to believe that I should
be able to just type ''rspec'' and rspec would find any spec files in a
directory called spec. I even tried adding a .rspec file with
"--default_path spec"

[Patch v2] xen/tmem: Fix uses of unmatched __map_domain_page()
__map_domain_page() *must* be matched with an unmap_domain_page(). These five
static inline functions each map a page (or two), then throw away the context
needed to unmap it.
Each of the changes are limited to their respective functions. In two cases,
this involved replacing a large amount of pointer arithmetic with memcpy()
(all callers were relying on memcpy() semantics of positive/negative

Possible problem with S4 dispatch
Hi,
First a bit of disclaimer... I haven't isolated this problem into an
easy to reproduce case, and I won't be surprised if the root cause is
a fault in my code's use of name spaces or some such.
The error I'm seeing is one in which the desired method is not found.
What worries me in terms of my expectations of how to debug the
problem is that showMethods and selectMethod both
