No suspend after update
I have two suggestions about how to keep - for a while - the 388 kernel. First - Use DNF to remove the bad kernels. Then when a new one comes in it will take one of those slots. Second - Increase the number of installed kernels. That change is in yum.conf. https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-remove-old-unused-kernels-on-centos-linux If the number is too high, you may run out of room in /boot

[rhel-9.2 v2v PATCH 0/2] detect_kernels: deal with RHEL's kernel-core / kernel-modules-core split
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2175703 In RHEL-9.2, the "detect_kernels" function still exists in virt-v2v, not in the common submodule. Because we need to fix RHBZ#2175703 for RHEL-9.2.z as well, port of the identically named libguestfs-common patch series <http://mid.mail-archive.com/20230320115301.43051-1-lersek at redhat.com> to RHEL-9.2 virt-v2v. [libguestfs-common PATCH 0/2] detect_kernels: deal with RHEL's kernel-core / kernel-modules-core split
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2175703 Vera Wu's testing covered a backport of this series to the virt-v2v project's rhel-9.2 branch (on top of commit 86517b17be98), where the "detect_kernels" function is still unique/internal to the virt-v2v project. The backport / cherry-pick from libguestfs-common to virt-v2v cannot be automated, but it's not difficult; only

Laptop, nouveau and external monitor
Running the latest version of Rocky Linux 9 fully updated and Mate on a Dell Inspiron 7570 laptop with a UHD display, i.e. 3840 x 2160 pixels. I would like to attach two external monitors and initially experimented with a Dell dock model 3100 and the latest version of the DisplayLink and evdi drivers. However, although the Mate display applet shows the correct resolution for the laptop display

Cores hang when calling mcapply
Hi R users. Apologies for the lack of concrete examples because the dataset is large, and it being so I believe is the issue. I multiple, very large datasets for which I need to generate 0/1 absence/presence columns Some include over 200M rows, with two columns that need presence/absence columns based on the strings contained within them, as an example, one set has ~29k unique values and the

How is the server configured to handle memory distribution for individual users. I see it has over 700GB of total system memory, but how much can be assigned it each individual user? AAgain - just curious, and wondering how much memory was assigned to your instance when you were running R. regards, Gregg On Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 at 9:49 AM, Deramus, Thomas Patrick <tderamus at

Thomas, I'm curious - what OS are you running this on, and how much memory does the computer have?? Let me know if that code worked out as I hoped. regards, gregg On Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 at 6:51 AM, Deramus, Thomas Patrick <tderamus at mgb.org> wrote: > About to try this implementation. > > As a follow-up, this is the exact error: > > Lost warning

Cores hang when calling mcapply
Hi Gregg. Just wanted to follow up on the solution you proposed. I had to make some adjustments to get exactly what I wanted, but it works, and takes about 15 minutes on our server configuration: temp <- ??????open_dataset( ????????????sources = input_files, ????????????format = 'csv', ????????????unify_schema = TRUE, ????????????col_types = schema( ????????????"ID_Key"

Cores hang when calling mcapply
Hi Thomas, Glad to hear the suggestion helped, and that switching to a `data.table` approach reduced the processing time and memory overhead?15 minutes for one of the smaller datasets is certainly better! Sounds like the adjustments you devised, especially keeping the multicore approach for `make_clean_names()` and ensuring that `ID_Key` values remain intact, were the missing components you
