Help with reconnecting a faulty brick
Hi everyone.
I'm running a simple Gluster setup like this:
? * Replicate 2x1
? * Only 2 nodes, with one brick each
? * Nodes are CentOS 7.0, uising GlusterFS 3.5.3 (yes, I know it's old,
I just can't upgrade right now)
No sharding or anything "fancy". This Gluster volume is used to host VM
images, and are used by both nodes (which are gluster server and
clients).

it at dc6:~$ sudo samba-tool domain join NICHO.COM DC -UAdministrator at NICHO.COM
--option='idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes'

In fact, what would be the difference between reconnecting the brick
with a wiped FS, and using
gluster volume remove-brick vmstore replica 1 master1:/mnt/bricks/vmstore
gluster volume add-brick myvol replica 2

It is. It's a simple perl script with +x. I can exec it from the comande line like
/usr/local/bin/addworkstation.pl foo$
which creates the machin account like it should. I've also

auth audit log question
Hi,
Since samba 4.7 I have setup auth logging, and while I can relate most
failed passwords to users mistyping a password, there is one kind that I
don't understand, happening across our samba-DCs.
Things work without issues, but I'm just being curious. :-)

add machine script not running
Hi.
I'm running samba 3.6.3 (on Ubuntu 12.04). This server is acting as an old style NT4 domain using samba as backend. Machine accounts are created using a script, called by samba (add machine script). Everything is working great.
Now, I want to keep the same thing, but on Ubuntu 16.04, so with samba 4.3.11. Mostly everything is working as expected, except that smbd doesn't execute the

Synology NAS looses connection to Samba AD
We have to Samba DCs and a couple of Synology NAS connected/bound to the Samba AD. On regular basis the Synology NAS (I believe Samba 4.4.16) looses its connection to the AD outputting the error message, that the domain cannot be found. In the logs of the NAS I can only find the error message ?synowin: domain_test_join.c:59 net ads test join fail?.
In the logs of the DC I notice that from one

Can not join via ADS using administrator account, succeeded using another account
Hello,
Yesterday I have used Samba to help me authenticate Windows uses
within the Squid Proxy server. ( FreeBSD-6.1 + Samba 3.0.25 )
The Kerberos setup went fine. However I got the
NT_STATUS_PROTOCOL_UNREACHABLE error code when trying to "net join"
the domain.
It seems this is Kerberos related. On the net some emails suggest
using "kdc = tcp/server.name" syntax to deal
