dtrace and follow fork
I am trying to use dtrace to trace all sscanf calls.
I am able to use pid provider for this.
But my application forks off children at times to
handle requests.
Is there a way I can stop the child process
immediately after it is started so that
I can attach a pid provider to that and trace the
scanf calls in it?
I have tried using the "create" probe but that did
not help.

need to remove domain from Winbind group entries
Hi,
I have server setup as BDC on a subnet different from
the PDC. The BDC can auth fine against the PDC and
they can browse each other just fine. The problem is
on Unix side of the BDC. When I do a 'wbinfo -g' or
'getent group' each group fit the format
'DOMAIN\group_name' and the PDC does not. This is
causing problems when synchronizing as the group perm
is being set

SIP KEEPALIVES, with QUALIFY and without making UNREACHABLE
Need SIP KEEPALIVES in Asterisk, but QUALIFY won't presently work for you (due to it's channel disabling behavior)?
Someone posted on the list that they would like to split "keepalives" and "qualify" into different features. Sounds like a good plan, but until that is done you can turn "qualify=" into a keepalive mechanism, without disabling your channels.

Protect some mailbox to remove
I've installed dovecot 0.99.14 (maildir, postfix,
RHEL3) and I would like to create , for every user, 4
mailbox (in skel): mail-sent, spam, virus-alert and
sysadm. Procmail, parsing header mail, will move mails
into a specific mailbox. Every users could move,
delete, read these mails but they must not delete
mailbox folder (such as INBOX mail).
Thanks in advance,

Asterisk trunk/1.6 and nvfaxdetect
I'll begin working on full cross-version support (Asterisk 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6) in early May for nvfaxdetect and a handful of other modules.

Bitrate problem
Thanks all for your prompt reply.
I agree with Alex. I think jitter buffer will have to
drop packets if its input bitrate is higher than it is
configured for.
I never tried speex jitter buffer. What does it do
when input bitrate is higher or lower ?
As an alternate solution, I was thinking to play with
directsound playrate [using SetFrequency()]. Has
anyone used it to solve such problem?

speex voice seems to be bit breaking over long distance.
Hi,
Ok, what you suggest sound logical to me. Currently, I
have done a small trick to prevent this problem. What
I did is that whenever windows request a voice packet
from me and if I do not have the voice packet, I
repeat the previous packet. Hence, all the breaking
portion is filled with previous packet. This trick
seems to work so far. I am not sure what is the side
effect.
I think jitter

Re: running TextAloudMP3
Hello
I've succeeded running older version ov TextAloud on
my machine (to some extend). It means that now I can
type my registration code in the application and
continue with running TextAloud. Later at some moment
it ties to use TTS engines and then it shows the
message that TTS engine isn't installed. I've
installed AT&T Natural voices in TextAloud directory
and have instructed

restart - `exec'': Operation not supported
I played around with this some more and when I changed
line 142 of
/opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.13.4/bin/mongrel_rails
from "exec cmd" to "system cmd" Mongrel has
successfully restarted every time I''ve tried
("mongrel_rails restart").
Hell if I know why exec doesn''t work -- googling on
"exec Operation not supported ruby"

[LLVMdev] Error while compiling .cpp
Thanks a lot for replying.
I would check my system gcc configuration.
I got very useful replies from dev list regarding my earlier question but yet not able to determine block size. That I want in total size of a block in a function in bytes and not just the number of instructions.LLVM Tool gives most of the information e.g function bytes etc....but not individual block.
Thanks
