GPL license file missing from cvs snaphot
I noticed that the GNU GPL file ( usually named COPYING ) is missing from the nightly cvs snapshot, at least in the one I downloaded on may 12 2000 13:45 UTC. There is neighter an URL or regular address to obtain the license text. The README file states that the text is included with the source, but it isn't. IPv6, ULAs and FreeBSD
Hello, I already consulted related lists @freebsd.org [1,2] but I have remained unsuccessful to solve the following issue: VPN works for an internal IPv4 subnet, but I doesn't for an internal IPv6 subnet with ULAs. To be honest, I don't have any experience setting up a local IPv6; so I guess that I'm doing something wrong here. For those that know FreeBSD: The main aim is to connect

iSCSI domU - introducing more stability
Hi there, during peak load on some running domU, I noticed random iSCSI "Reported LUNs data has changed" which forced me to shutdown the respective domU, re-login the target and do a fsck before starting domU again. This occurred on a 16 core machine, having only about 14 domUs running. Spare memory has been occupied by dom0 (about 40G). Each domU has it''s own iSCSI target.

Problems with network in jail
Hi all, Is it mandatory to add device mem to jails to enable network via the gateway? Left ezjail with FreeBSD-6.3 (and a hardware replacement of my server) and am now starting again with FreeBSD-7.1. Early this week, I upgraded from 7.0 to 7.1 (not having 'used' jails on 7.0). After creating the jail with `ezjail-admin update -i` I created a 'ports build' jail `ezjail-admin

[Announcement] Tinc version 1.1pre12 released
Guus: Great job. I would love to see a library version of Tinc for linux. Kind of like an API instead of configuration files. Don't have time right now, but maybe one day I will re-factor the code for library orientation. It would have a single unix socket with a JSON API. I use Tinc on linux Ubuntu 15.10 x64 for all my vpn stuff. It allows Elastic Search and RethinkDB to survive in the

FreeBSD 6.3-stable and if_re - stability problems?
Hello! Is anybody having stability problems with if_re under FreeBSD 6.3-stable? I know about PR kern/118719[1] but it doesn't look like the problem I'm having - at least my machine doesn't panic. My machine[2] runs FreeBSD 6.3-stable / amd64: root@kg-vm# uname -a FreeBSD kg-vm.kg4.no 6.3-STABLE FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE #1: Sun Jan 27 02:10:15 CET 2008

old files not getting deleted
Howdy, I've been having a bear of a time tracking this down. I'm currently using rsync to back a bunch of servers up to a ZFS pool on a server. I recently noticed my deltas between ZFS snapshots seemed a bit large, so I started looking more closely at what was being backed up. Looking at some Maildirs, I found that messages (files) that had been deleted on the server were not being

/etc/rc.d/jail: losing IPs if jail_x_interface set and syntax error in jails /etc/rc?
Hi *, I recently triggered an error when setting up a jail-host: I configured the jail(s) like evry jail I set up in the past: On the jail-hosts /etc/rc.conf: # ---- Jail-Globals ---- jail_enable="YES" # Set to NO to disable starting of any jails jail_list="ftp mx1 relay" # Space separated list of names of jails

Jails and loopback interfaces
I've got a server running FreeBSD 6.2 and PF. The server has a couple dozen jails on it. Previously, I had a few "private" services such as MySQL running on loopback IPs (127.0.0.2+) and the rest of the jails running on the public IPs. I have to renumber my machine with a new block of public IPs so I thought I'd be clever and move all the jails onto loopback IPs. Then

jail performance questions
I'm thinking of using jails to improve security on a server I am setting up. Specifically, I would like to put Apache/PHP in a jail, but I might like to set up 2-3 different jails for different purposes. I've found several examples showing how to set the jails up. My questions involve system requirements. Assuming plenty of disk space, 1GB ram and a dual processor PIII 1.13Ghz
