Freebsd 7 STABLE 200807 amd64 - Realtek 8168 not working
I have an Asus P5Q-WS running FreeBSD 7 and the onboard Realtek NIC's
are not being detected.
No Kernel modifications as this is a fresh install.

re driver trobles (RELENG_5)
Dear colleagues,
experimenting with new amd64-based router we found strange re(4) behaviour
when working in autoselect media mode:
whenever promisc mode turned on, renegotiating occurs, leading to 3 to 45
(depending on STP settings on the switch) network unavailability.
Moreover, some other re(4) setting changes seem to disturb link state
unneededly (such as ifconfig re0 -vlanhwtag)

Integrated RTL8168/8111 NIC not assigned interface
I'm running 7.0-RELEASE-i386 on Jetway's NC92-N230 mainboard. The board has
one integrated RTL8168/8111 gigabit NIC as well as an expansion board with
three RTL8168/8111 NICs. Why would the three NICs work while the onboard NIC
does not?

re(4) problems with GA-H77N-WIFI
Hello,
I need some advice how to debug this issue ...
Recently I got a new mainboard for a router, it's a
Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI with two onboard re(4) NICs.
The problem is that re0 works fine and re1 doesn't:
It doesn't receive any packets. Tcpdump displays all
outgoing packets, but no incoming ones on re1.
Ifconfig shows the link correctly (100 or 1000 Mbit,
depending on where I

7.1-R to RELENG_7 upgrade breaks re nic
Hi,
I upgraded my 7.1-RELEASE system to RELENG_7 yesterday and after
booting, re0 works for only a short time, then gives "re0: PHY read
failed" over and over. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to debug?
Thanks,
Steve

FreeBSD 7.0 + Xen 3.1 + HVM: Success!
Just thought I'd pass along that I have successfully installed FreeBSD 7.0
into a Xen 3.1 HVM. ?This one went as smooth as I expected, considering my
experience with 6.3. ?Haven't done any benchmarking or stress testing or
port installs or anything. ?But so far it's working nicely.
Here's all the info. ?If you'd like to see anything else, let me know.

Problem with CentOS 5.1/xen/RTL8110
Hello:
I'm having issues with my CentOS 5.1/Xen installation. If I run the
xen-bridge, I seem to get flaky ethernet. By flaky I mean everything seems
fine from the host machine, but if I attempt to contact the host machine from
another remote machine (eg. my laptop which is on the same subnet as the xen
machine, separated by 10 ft of cable and a router) I either get extremely

7-STABLE, gjournal and fsck.
Hi,
Recently I've decided to play with gjournal. Main reason was a
promise of avoiding full fsck check after unclean shutdown. I've
successfuly configured gjournal on existing filesystems (all UFS). And
then it happened - my system had a power failure. After boot, it
forced me to run fsck manualy. Nothing special, I did it before... But
this time it failed on gjournaled disks.

em watchdog timeout on UP, 6-stable
Updated my Athlon-xp 6-stable system last night, got an em watchdog
timeout for the first time a few hours later, during a fairly
high-traffic period. System is UP but does have device apic in
the config. Any chance this is the recent race condition?
Workaround? ifconfig em0 down, ifconfig em0 up seemed to cure it,
at least for the moment.
Thanks,
Barney Wolff

FreeBSD 6.3-stable and if_re - stability problems?
Hello!
Is anybody having stability problems with if_re under FreeBSD
6.3-stable?
I know about PR kern/118719[1] but it doesn't look like the problem I'm
having - at least my machine doesn't panic.
My machine[2] runs FreeBSD 6.3-stable / amd64:

Hardware monitoring for Intel Atom D945GCLF.
Hi,
Is there a way to make use of hardware monitoring on Intel 945GCLF
(with Atom 230 cpu)?
It is relatively new child of Intel, but maybe someone figured it
out yet.
pciconf -lv shows this:

FreeBSD 7.0 + Xen 3.1 + HVM: Success!
Kip,
Does the problem with Xen 3.1 in HVM/Intel manifest as those BTX halted
errors (e.g.
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-10/msg00014.html) ?
If so, do you happen to know whether this problem has been solved in Xen
3.2 or 3.2.1? This message of yours was written this March, so I'm
assuming that 3.2.1 will contain this fix?
Can anybody confirm this? I'm having
