Failed to store repsFrom - Indexed and full searches both failed!
"Indexed and full searches both failed" is not a good sign. Failed in this case doesn't just mean 'returned no results', it means 'database error'. It could be on any record, as the filtering for a full search has to happen across the whole DB and if any of those filter tests fail, it will do this. I think you have another working DC, if so I would demote this

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
The two systems I'm referring to are on different domains, different locations. No connection whatsoever except me being the one administering both. According to oEMInformation the server was provisioned by 4.3.3. I just checked the Samba log file and it seems that version 4.7.4 was running before the update. I'm now looking at the logs right before the upgrade and indeed, there have

AD replication problem "WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED" - need help debugging
We have 3 ADCs based on Samba-4.7.4 (compiled from source, internal DNS)/ CentOS7: dcdo1,dcnh1 and dcge1. dcge1 holds all FSMO roles. The 3 ADCs are on different locations connected via IPSec based VPN. No traffic is filtered out. All 3 ADCs replicate fine except dcdo1 -->dcnh1. Symptom: [root at dcdo1 ~]# samba-tool drs replicate dcnh1.ad.kdu.com dcdo1.ad.kdu.com dc=ad,dc=kdu,dc=com

Samba 4.8.3 out of memory error
Our domain controllers have run samba 4.4.3 since it was released. We didn't upgrade because it was so stable :) I recently decided that release was too old and upgraded to 4.8.2 (then current). Our domain controllers were crashing on 4.8.2 so I upgraded to 4.8.3 as soon as it was released but this has not resolved the issue. When the issue occurs the DC becomes unresponsive and needs to be

Samba 4.8 RODC not working
Hi, It's my first try to setup RODC using Samba 4.8. We have latest Samba 4.7 environnement with 2 DC and some file servers. Joining the DC to the domain is OK using samba-tool domain join command. The domain controller appears in the DC list (MMC) However, users cannot be authenticated. Samba is running but these ports are closed : netbios-ssn 139/tcp # NETBIOS session service

hi, After a "samba-tool drs showrepl" I saw that there had been an error in the replication of ForestDnsZones. I ran a "samba-tool drs replicate dc2 dc3 DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=campus,DC=sertao,DC=ifrs,DC=edu,DC=br -d10" and the error below occurred. AD replication problem "WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED" - need help debugging
Hi, i have the same problem on samba 4.7.3 and 4.7.4. I start with 2 DCs and the sync works fine. After the join of a third DC mostly i get the WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED. I tested it for 10 times. in my case i have: DC1 (with any FSMO Roles) DC2 new join as DC: DC3 After the join, the sync from DC2 to DC3 fails. samba-tool drs replicate dc2 dc1 dc=gvcc,dc=net : OK samba-tool drs replicate

AD replication problem "WERR_DS_DRA_ACCESS_DENIED" - need help debugging
Hi, there is no firewall, all DCs are in the same subnet. here ist the output of a test, you can see, the CNAME guid entries in the _msdcs can be resolved on any DC: (DC1 and DC2 are the first and second DCs, SAMBA3 was added at last. ldbsearch -H /srv/samba/private/sam.ldb '(invocationId=*)' --cross-ncs objectguid # record 1 dn: CN=NTDS Settings,CN=DC2,CN=Servers,CN=Default-First-Site-

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
I could really use some support with this. I understand it's always possible to just restore from a backup but the more interesting question is if something can be done with the data at hand. Basically, I'm trying to understand how it's possible that a dbcheck shows no errors, an ldbsearch is successful, and yet it's not possible to start the AD properly. What else is there that

I just saw now that your response ended up in spam, probably because of the link with the log. O.o I still receive the error in the logs: source4/dsdb/kcc/kcc_periodic.c:790: Failed samba_kcc - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT The strangest thing is that it occurs when the command

kcc_periodic output
I've been grappling with a recurring set of errors for quite some time now: - UpdateRefs failed with NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT - Failed samba_kcc - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT - IRPC callback failed for DsReplicaSync - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT Despite cranking up the log level to 10, the returned information remains frustratingly cryptic and hard to decipher. This error, being overly generic, continues to

Failed samba_kcc - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
hi, The error is consistently occurring across all four of my DCs. [2024/01/19 14:02:05.917120, 0] source4/dsdb/kcc/kcc_periodic.c:790(samba_kcc_done) source4/dsdb/kcc/kcc_periodic.c:790: Failed samba_kcc - NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT I configured logging to level 5 and observed DC1. No errors were detected; instead, kcc_periodic.c executed smoothly, and the system reported a successful outcome.

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
I was too quick to send my previous email. It can't really be a problem of the package since I have, as mentioned, another system with the exact same setup and the exact same package versions and it all works there... Replication only working one way
OK, tried that. Kicked myself for not trying earlier... but it didn't work. In fact, the error has got worse. Now when I try to go from Genesis to Luke I get: sudo samba-tool drs replicate luke genesis DC=kcs,DC=local -Udomainadmin . . ERROR(<class 'samba.drs_utils.drsException'>): DsReplicaSync failed - drsException: DsReplicaSync failed (1359, 'WERR_INTERNAL_ERROR')
