Memdisk + Freedos problem
I and some other people have problems with running the freedos image included in Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD), when using memdisk for floppy emulation. Memdisk starts booting the image and freedos shows the following menu: 0 Boot Clean 1 Boot UMBPCI (silent) 2 Boot UMBPCI (optimal) 3 Boot UMBPCI (semi-defensive) 4 Boot EMM386 (optimal) 5 Boot EMM386 (semi-defensive) 6 Boot no UMB (defensive) 7 Boot

Hello
What I'm trying to get at is this -- I'd like to analyze and understand what softwares that was used to build a library of softwares that made it as UBCD 4.x. This way, I would be able to use UBCD as a model to build customized ITS apps to be used for campus tech work. Is there some kind of step-by-step or user guide that explains how to build everything from scratch and what softwares

enhanced config.c32 module
For UBCD, we have a lot of config files. Isolinux will load /boot/isolinux/isolinux.cfg, which will load /ubcd/menus/syslinux/main.cfg Syslinux will load /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg, which will load /ubcd/menus/syslinux/main.cfg The /ubcd/menus/syslinux/main.cfg loads several other config files when you select the appropriate menu. From all those menus you can go back to

Add CONFIGISOLINUX, CONFIGSYSLINUX, CONFIGEXTLINUX and CONFIGPXELINUX
I would like to see that it is possible to specify which config file should be loaded. I would like to have an extension of the CONFIG command. Normally CONFIG loads the file that is specified after it. It should be nice if syslinux/isolinux/pxelinux/extlinux can choose which config file to load, based on the bootloader from which the current config is runned. If I will explain it with an

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Same CD. Any Linux distribution without the 5.X series boots on this machine. We can use 4.06 and it boots just fine. It's not the computer's hardware. Like I said, we can take the CD out of the GX620 and place it in the 9010 and it boots. Put 4.06 on the CD, and they both boot. Dell Optiplex GX620 keyboard problem
Hello, I'm interrested in testing any possible workaroud for the Dell Optiplex GX620 keyboard problem, as I just can't downgrade the BIOS version on each and every Gx620 I have to (re)install ! (Plus I can't find a link to download the old A10 BIOS itself.) Don't hesitate to give me guidance on how to proceed, because I can't find anything relevant on the website

iPXE chain to lpxelinux.0 6.03 inconsistencies and failures
On this list in early July 2014 I reported that on certain hardware one cannot chain from ipxe to lpxelinux.0 . My report at the time was about 6.03-pre17. I've repeated the tests with the release version of 6.03 and here is an updated report with more details. I boot to a USB stick with iPXE, which then is told to "dhcp" and then "chain http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/pxe.0".

memdisk requires floppy drive to boot
Hello! Below is an excerpt from the thread in October. I have the same problem, but my laptop (which is a Brand new HP Compaq NC6230) does not have options in the BIOS to enable or disable floppy support. It just doesn't have one. I assume it leaves it enabled for USB Floppy support, but does not come with the drive. My ISOLinux setup is a UBCD. I tried to make my own, but the lack of
