Did a recent Samba upgrade change something to lose connection with iptables enabled?
Hello,
I am still a newbie to Linux, but I can find my ways around as long as I have help. For some
reason if I leave my iptables enabled, I will lose my Samba share connection after a few
minutes. Of course, then iptables disabled, I have no problems. I am using Debian with Kernel
2.6.14-K7.
Is this normal? Thank you in advance. :)

Newbie with NUT and his new APC Back-UPS XS BX1500
Hello!
I installed NUT with "apt-get install nut" (v2.0.2-1). I hooked the new APC Back-UPS XS BX1500
unit to the Debian (Kernel 2.6.12-1-K7) computer with the provided USB cable (has an ethernet
jack on the end connected to UPS) and ran dmesg command:
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -110

Are you using wins?
Try lmhosts for the start?
Are all machines on the same subnet?
Just a few hints to start with ...

Is there a way to turn pager off on rw0641?
(The separate window that display the help files)
The problem of SDI crashing R when you do ?ls and
there is no help files do not occure in MDI.
(SDI sound like Reagan's star war...:-) )

Hidden voicemail feature - send message to pager
Hi,
Browsing app_voicemail.c for something else I noticed that you can add
a pager email address to the voicemail box configuration like
1000 => 1234,Ask Bjoern Hansen,ask@develooper.com,
1235551234@example.com
to get a short notice about the new voicemail sent to
1235551234@example.com. Very neat.
Feature request: It would be mighty cool to get the voicemails stored
as mp3s; at least

Pager support
I have a request from a customer to provide several levels of paging when someone leaves a VM. On other PBX's VM systems it is common for the system to 'dial out' to a pager wait a few seconds and then send a DTMF sequence that is usually the mailbox number, or sometimes it will call a remote phone number and ask for a password and let them listen to their VM message. I have set

Voicemail Pager Subject?
Hi,
I have set emailsubject in voicemail.conf as follows:
emailsubject=New Voicemail from ${VM_CALLERID} in Mailbox ${VM_MAILBOX}
This works fine, but the pager e-mails come through with "New VM". I
would like the pager e-mail to be the same subject as above as I get
this as an SMS to my mobile phone.
I thought this would be config'able but I can't find any mention of it

customize the pager email
I am running CVS-HEAD-04/12/05-21:44:31 and I am curious if it is
possible to customize the email message sent to the pager email address.
Thanks,
Andy

Pager ("beeper") Emulation Script
Does anyone have a script that will emulate a normal numeric pager but
send the number to an email address? Also anyone happen to have the
traditional tones used in North America?

Change email/pager VM alerts body text dynamically?
Greetings;
I've got a situation where I really need to be able to select from a
number of various (body) textx for email/pager messages when voivemails
are left, but can't seem to figure out how to change them on the fly.
Now, I know there are pre-defined defaults, which can be overridden by
entries in the [general] section of voicemail.conf, but that does not get
me there. I need to be

[newbie] pager for large matrix?
summary: I'd like a tool to use within an R session (better yet an ESS
buffer) that would
* (minimally) allow me to page (? la `less`) a large sparse matrix
* (preferably) page row-wise (i.e., show all values for row=1 before
proceeding to row=2)
details:
Apologies if this is a FAQ, but I didn't find anything in `help.print`
or google="R pager". (If there's a better way

Finding the dominant factor in an unbalanced group
Hi all.
This is perhaps more a statistics question but I'm hoping someone can
help me.
I have a group of patients for whom I'm looking at beat to beat RR
interval changes.
I have plotted the difference between one beat length and the next
against the difference between the previous beat length and the current one.
This gives me a plot with four quadrants: the bottom left corresponding

demo() output looks garbled in default pager (less and most)
Dear Rexperts,
I have recently build R-2.3.0 from source on a Linux system and have
encountered the following problem (perhaps not exactly a problem, but a
minor display flaw):

default pager is more
Was wondering why R help in recent Fedora only provided --More--
prompt for viewing, rather than allowing arrow key navigation as on
RHEL. It turns out it uses a system command for paging and the current
default pager is more:

PAGER=${PAGER-'/usr/bin/more'}
rpm -qf /usr/lib64/R/etc/Renviron

Pager size in 1.2.2 Windows
The following sequence of commands (for example):
>my.data<-rnorm(10000, 5, 1)
>my.data
fills my pager buffer beyond its capacity. When I type "my.data", the
pager displays approximately the bottom 7000 cells of the file, but "loses"
the first 3000. Is there a some setting that increases the size of the
pager buffer, or is this a limit in the Windows version?

Pager Notification Script
Does anyone on the list have a script for notifying pagers that they
would be willing to share? I have found a reference in the archive to
such a script, but previous attempts to find the author of that
posting have failed.
Anyhow, I am looking to set up a system whereby a message is sent to
a pager when a voicemail is left in a specified mailbox. (This is
easy, it's built-in to
