Hi I copied the centos 5.2 x86_64 DVD to a USB pen drive formatted for FAT32. I then ran syslinux -sf /dev/sdc1 to get it to boot. I mounted it, and did cp isolinux/vmlinuz . cp isolinux/isolinux.cfg syslinux.cfg the setup the MBR. THe device booted but I got an error message about unknown command in the syslinux.cfg file. Isnt syslinux and isolinux compatible - they are in the same package?

I get the error "Cannot load a ramdisk with an old kernel image." the memtest is just called memtest ( renamed from .bin as I read that in the archives that was bad ) My isolinux.cfg is just label memtest kernel memtest I searched google with not much avail. I?ve been trying to get the dd of an iso to a usb flash drive to work for CentOS 6.7. It is working with the CentOS 7 DVD1 iso (x64), but if I use the same process with 6.7 bin dvd1 iso or the 6.7 live dvd, the flash drive will not boot. I thought 6.x and forward could be done like this. -wes

i am trying to use chain.c32 with isolinux to load WinPE/BartPE/etc and I can not get it to work. I have tried with the simple.c32, and just from the isolinux prompt. I have tried 3.32-pre6, 3.20, and jumped back and tried 3.08. All configurations fail with 'Cannot read Master Boot Record'. The boot sectors are known to be good, and are known to work with chain.c32 with pxelinux.
