High iowait in dom0 after creating a new guest, with file-based domU disk on GFS
Hopefully I summed up the jist of the problem in the subject line. ;)
I have a GFS cluster with ten Xen 3.0 dom0s sharing an iSCSI LUN. There are
on average 8 domUs running on each Xen server. The dom0 on each server is
hard-coded to 2 CPUs and 2GB of RAM with no ballooning, and has 2GB of
partition-based swap.
When creating a new domU on any of the Xen servers, just after the

Extremely high iowait
Hello,
We have a 5 node OCFS2 volume backed by a Sun (Oracle) StorageTek 2540. Each system is running OEL5.4 and OCFS2 1.4.2, using device-mapper-multipath to load balance over 2 active paths. We are using the default multipath configuration for our SAN. We are observing iowait time between 60% - 90%, sustaining at over 80% as I'm writing this, driving load averages to >25 during an rsync

About the Linux 2.4 driver, we realized that we have big problem with the 9.2

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
What is the HBA the drives are attached to?
Have you done a quick benchmark on a single disk to check if this is a
raid problem or further down the stack?
Regards,
Dennis

OH. its a very good idea to verify the driver is at the same revision
level as the firmware. not 100% sure how you do this under CentOS, my
H220 system is running FreeBSD, and is at revision P20, both firmware
and driver. HP's firmware, at least what I could find, was a fairly
old P14 or something, so I

LSI/Avago?s web pages don?t have any downloads for the SAS2308, so I think I?m out of luck wrt MegaRAID.
Bounced the node, confirmed MPT Firmware 15.10.09.00-IT.
HP Driver is v 15.10.04.00.
Both are the latest from HP.
Unsure why, but the module itself reports version 20.100.00.00:
[root at r1k1 sys] # cat module/mpt2sas/version
20.100.00.00

Already done ? they?re not being very helpful, as we don?t have a support contract, just standard warranty.

Samba 4.7.x IOWAIT / load average
Hi,
I want to report a strange problem with samba 4.7.x and IO wait / CPU usage.
I am using linux (archlinux, kernel 4.14.2) and encounter a very strange bug with only samba 4.7.x (from 4.7.0 to last 4.7.4).
With these versions CPU usage and IO WAIT is very high with a single CIFS client with very low transfert (about 1MB/s).
I rollback to 4.6.9 to 4.6.12 and no problem with these versions.

Samba 4.7.x IOWAIT / load average
Hi,
I found the problem !
It was the params "strict sync" which is default to "Yes" on 4.7.x and "No" on 4.6.x and previous.
When i force to "strict sync = no" in my config file, no more abnormal load average.
is this normal to default to "yes" on 4.7.x ?
Thanks
