booting FreeBSD DomU
Hi! May anyone assist me with booting FreeBSD DomU (under Debian Dom0). Now I''m using the kernel-current, downloaded from Kip Macy site at http://www.fsmware.com/xenofreebsd/7.0/download/ The problem is that I can''t specify _any_ root, the kernel can recognize: Mount point / had 1 dangling refs Manual root filesystem specification: <fstype>:<device> Mount

broken network-support for netBSD-domUs?
Hello. I recently tried installing NetBSD-5 on xen-4.0.1-rc5, which resulted in no network (xennet0 can''t get IPs per dhclient and has no connectivity if set by hand). Tried it with netBSD-5.1-RC3-1 i386 PAE & amd64, netBSD-5.0 and even 4, all with the same result. On a older xen version (3.3.1) networking works fine, so I assume it''s a xen bug, and not a netBSD-kernel

[LLVMdev] How to handle divide-by-zero exception?
DISCLAIMER: I am SSA, LLVM and compiler ignorant, so take the following for what it is worth. What about logically breaking a (complex) SEH method into two logical methods, as per this pseudo-code as an example: ----------------------- foo(parameter-list) { leading-statements; try { try-statements; } catch(Execption0 ex0) { catch-0-statements; } . catch(ExceptionN exN) {

interactions between xen and openvpn
Hi all, first time that i tried to use xen. My goal is to reach in ssh all the domUs after i manage to get a connection through openvpn. Like they were real servers. I installed the openvpn server on my dom0 (ubuntu 9.04 + default package + latest debian-xen-amd64 kernel) After connecting to the openvpn server I''m able to do direct ssh just to the dom0. For reaching domU i had do it with

gmirror+gjournal: unable to boot after crash
Hi, after one month with gmirror and gjournal running on a 7.0-RELEASE #p2 amd64 (built from latest CVS source), the box hung a couple of times when on high disk load. Finally, while building some port it won't boot for no reason obvious to me. This is what I get with kernel.geom.mirror.debug=2: ata2-master: pio=PIO4 wdma=WDMA2 udma=UDMA133 cable=40 wire ad4: 476940MB <SAMSUNG HD501LJ

vinum (root on vinum too) throw_rude_remark crash: endless loop
Dear colleagues, experimenting with vinum stripes and mirrors, I'd stuck myself with the following: panic: throw_rude_remark: called without config lock (from vinumconfig.c:throw_rude_remark:103) The system before this panic has two 160G drives with two vinum partitions on each (one for mirrored root and one for the rest with swap between); these were ad0 and ad2. For the experiments,

How do I get rid of vfb?
Hi all, I’m running Xen 4.1 on a couple of NetBSD dom0s and NetBSD’s pkgsrc provides both the xl and xm tools for working with Xen 4.1. I understand that xl is the new way of doing things, but I can’t get it to create my guests the way I want and the main symptom of this is that the text console isn’t available. When I create a guest with xl it starts up qemu-dm (which xm doesn’t do) and I get

Bug#658100: xl: hangs in qemu-dm when trying to run PV domU
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-1 Severity: normal Hi, I was doing some experiments today with XL TOOLSTACK, and found few problems when trying to do PV domU boot. I was trying to run kfreebsd9 or linux-3.2 kernel in qemu using PV i386, and with simple configuration without any disks, nics or virtual framebuffer, kernel boots (and then kernel itselfs correctly fails with information

FreeBSD PVH guest support
Hello, The Xen community is working on a new virtualization mode (or maybe I should say an extension of HVM) to be able to run PV guests inside HVM containers without requiring a device-model (Qemu). One of the advantages of this new virtualization mode is that now it is much more easier to port guests to run under it (as compared to pure PV guests). Given that FreeBSD already supports

Re: Visual Fox Pro 9 with dBase tables
If you want an excellent POS system (http://www.retailexpress.com.au/) on the cheap, you should try Retail Express. The offering of Retail Express doesn't require expensive hardware because of its cloud-based nature.

FOX PRO 2.6 on SMB
Hello list We have some Fox Pro apps shared on Samba server (I know FOX sucks) and sometimes we need to recreate indexes, and we have to call all the users and ask them to close their programs. If we kill the user's smb process we got corrupted indexes... here's the question : is there any way to force the used files by an smb user process to close avoiding corruption, or perhaps make
