[ANNOUNCE] Btrfs v0.12 released
Hello everyone,
I wasn't planning on releasing v0.12 yet, and it was supposed to have some
initial support for multiple devices. But, I have made a number of
performance fixes and small bug fixes, and I wanted to get them out there
before the (destabilizing) work on multiple-devices took over.
So, here's v0.12. It comes with a shiny new disk format (sorry), but the gain

[PATCH v8 0/7] Add virtio-iommu driver
Implement the virtio-iommu driver, following specification v0.12 [1].
Since last version [2] we've worked on improving the specification,
which resulted in the following changes to the interface:
* Remove the EXEC flag.
* Add feature bit for the MMIO flag.
* Change domain_bits to domain_range.
Given that there were small changes to patch 5/7, I removed the review
and test tags. Please find

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support - patch
After posting my previous mail, I realized that i should instead post a
patch against HEAD. This is because v0.12 was released while I was also
changing ffmpeg2theora.c from v0.11. So please use this patch instead and
apply it to version at http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ffmpeg2theora

CELT v0.11.x
Hello list,
I'm new here, and I'm experiencing problems with the latest snapshots of
the CELT codec. In fact, starting from 0.11.0, everything compiles
correctly, no error, but the software is unusable.
I've always tested in a very "personal" way if everything went okay
after installation : I use a very small PCM WAV file, and encode it with
celtenc to stdout. If something

More performance fixes pushed out to btrfs-unstable
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, this does include a disk format change, but this set of fixes
brings benchmarks back up to where they were before the back pointers. There
are some tweaks for the block allocator that give small benefits, but most of
the speedup comes from these two changes:
* When allocating extents, insert the extent record and the first backref in a
single tree insert.

build error on 2.6.27
Hi,
Since commit eecac8a148137ec5c519fc536effce8d6be89ec8
( HEAD is now at eecac8a... Btrfs: drop remaining LINUX_KERNEL_VERSION checks and compat code )
btrfs kernel module failed to compile on 2.6.27. Older kernel versions not supported anymore?
Thanks,

benchmark results
I've had the chance to use a testsystem here and couldn't resist running a
few benchmark programs on them: bonnie++, tiobench, dbench and a few
generic ones (cp/rm/tar/etc...) on ext{234}, btrfs, jfs, ufs, xfs, zfs.
All with standard mkfs/mount options and +noatime for all of them.
Here are the results, no graphs - sorry:

Te110P initial installation problems ?
Hi,
thank you for last info. we've tried to use te110p but failed. We're quite
surprised that cable wasn't included with the card as any documentation, at
least on HW setup and installation, yet cable pinout for connection to PRI
interfaces....

btrfs: sdb1 checksum verify failed
Hi,
I've created an test enviroment for btrfs 0.11. The aim of the test is
to compare speed of btrfs to ext3, reiserfs, jfs, xfs, etc.
I've created an 70 GB partition for btrfs, created btrfs filesystem on
it, which is currently mounted under /data. I put the kernel source tree
of Linux 2.6.24 to the btrfs, make allyesconfig, and i've created the
following script:

C5: prevent loading of AHCI in favor of "fakeraid" megaide
Hi,
I'm trying to install an old fujitsu siemens econel 50 server.
It uses an Intel chipset with ICH6R sata subsystem known as fakeraid.
I have configured a Raid 1 with two 160GB hds.
FS and Intel both provide a driver called megaide on a driver disk to
use fakeraid and here is the problem:
- The readme tells me to install with the "nostorage" kernel option and
