T1 Hardware Echo Can
Hello,
After reading the lists and taking reccomendations from TC, I have finally
given up on the echo can built into asterisk. I am sick of hearing
complaints from users, so the money spent on a hardware echo can will be
worth its weight in gold.
I am curious however, about some setup and component requirements. It
seems as if every telecom place I call, either never calls back or doesn't

confused about zpool import -f and export
Hi, all,
I think I''m missing a concept with import and export. I''m working on installing a Nexenta b134 system under Xen, and I have to run the installer under hvm mode, then I''m trying to get it back up under pv mode. In that process the controller names change, and that''s where I''m getting tripped up.
I do a successful install, then I boot OK,

CentOS + GFS + EtherDrive
I am considering building a pair of storage servers that will be using
CentOS and GFS to share the storage from a Coraid (SATA+Raid) EtherDrive
shelf. Has anyone else tried such a setup?
Is GFS stable enough to use in a production environment?
There is a build of GFS 6.1 at http://rpm.karan.org/el4/csgfs/. Has anyone
used this? Is it stable?
Will I run into any problems if I use CentOS 3.5

Infrastructure - Datacenter is Non Climate Controlled, Prone to Flooding,

have to be analog due to the distance.

categorize a character column
Hi, I know I can do this with a for loop with strsplit and grep, but is
there more efficient way?
Given a data dataframe (input) and a category column (lst),

Disk Layout for New Storage Server
We are implementing a ZFS storage server (NAS) to replace a NetApp box. I have a Sun server with two dual Ultra320 PCIX cards connected to 4 shelves of 12 500GB disks each, yielding a total of 24TB of raw storage.
I''m kicking around the different ways to carve this space up, balancing storage space with data integrity. The layout that I have come to think is the best for me is to

recovering data from a dettach mirrored vdev
Hi,
my system (solaris b77) was physically destroyed and i loosed data saved in a zpool mirror. The only thing left is a dettached vdev from the pool. I''m aware that uberblock is gone and that i can''t import the pool. But i still hope their is a way or a tool (like tct http://www.porcupine.org/forensics/) i can go too recover at least partially some data)
thanks in advance for

Examples of hardware implementations
Can some people post some configurations they've implemented when
deploying an * system for let's say 25-50 stations and maybe a larger
200 station system? I would assume some kind of chassis with some DSP
boards and some kind of system board with a hard drive for running the
system and storing the voice mails - obviously I'm interested in
specific chassises and boards used and

confusion and frustration with zpool
I have a zpool which has grown "organically". I had a 60Gb disk, I added a 120, I added a 500, I got a 750 and sliced it and mirrored the other pieces.
The 60 and the 120 are internal PATA drives, the 500 and 750 are Maxtor OneTouch USB drives.
The original system I created the 60+120+500 pool on was Solaris 10 update 3, patched to use ZFS sometime last fall (November I believe). In

space allocation vs. thin provisioning
Short question:
I''m curious as to how ZFS manages space (free and used) and how
its usage interacts with thin provisioning provided by HDS
arrays. Is there any effort to minimize the number of provisioned
disk blocks that get writes so as to not negate any space
benefits that thin provisioning may give?
Background & more detailed questions:
In Jeff Bonwick''s blog[1], he

zpool export takes too long time in build-134
Hi,
I did the zpool import/export performance testing on opensolaris build-134:
1). Create 100 zfs and 100 snapshots, then do zpool export/import
export takes about 5 seconds
import takes about 5 seconds
2). Create 200 zfs and 200 snapshots, then do zpool export/import
export takes about 80 seconds
import takes about 12 seconds
3). Create 300 zfs and 300 snapshots, then do

[LLVMdev] Simple question on C program test coverage / dependence analysis
Hi all.
I am new to LLVM, and wondering are there any off-the-shelf tools for C
programs
for measuring testing coverage and simple dependence analysis (within the
LLVM framework).
Specifically, I would like to:
(1) measure which line is covered when executing a C program with specific
input values.
It likes a testing coverage tool, but I hope to get the line number.

Bridge networking in Debian
Starting a new Xen setup, with off-the-shelf Wheezy, and the standard Xen packages,
which turn out to be Xen 4.1
I used to just put a (network-script network-bridge) in the Xen setup, but I guess
you can''t do that anymore...
There are a variety of recipes to setup the network and bridging, since apparently
the Xen setup doesn''t does this for you anymore. I''ve gone

is zpool export/import | faster than rsync or cp
I need to move data from one zpool to another, lock stock and
barrel,
Being from linux background my instinct was to use rsync. But then I
remembered seeing the `export/import options in man zpool.. And I''ve
seen mention of them here too, but didn''t pay attention since I''d
noticed no need yet.
Now I''m wondering if the export/import sub commands might not be

Tripp light driver?
Hey,
I am wondering if anyone gotten nut to work with a Tripp Light Smart Pro
2U Rack/Towers (SMART2200RMXL2U). If so which driver did you use, or
what driver do you think I should try?
Also when trying use a nut driver, do you have to be a nut user?
Thanks,

questions about replacing a raidz2 vdev disk with a larger one
I''d like to replace/upgrade two 500GB disks in RaidZ2 vdev with 1TB disks, but I have some preliminary questions/concerns before trying ''zfs replace dpool ?''
Will ZFS permit this replacement?
Will ZFS use the extra space in a heterogeneous RaidZ2 vdev, or is the size limited by the smallest disk in the vdev?
Thanks in advance,
Vizzini
