It seems we are hitting a boundary with zfs send/receive over a network link (10Gb/s). We can see peak values of up to 150MB/s, but on average about 40-50MB/s are replicated. I was trying to simply test bandwidth that Solaris/ZFS (Nevada b63) can deliver from a drive, and doing this: dd if=(raw disk) of=/dev/null gives me around 80MB/s, while dd if=(file on ZFS) of=/dev/null gives me only 35MB/s!?.
