Panic while scrubbing
Hello,
I am not sure if I am posting in the correct forum, but it seems somewhat zfs related, so I thought I''d share it.
While the machine was idle, I started a scrub. Around the time the scrubbing was supposed to be finished, the machine panicked.
This might be related to the ''metadata corruption'' that happened earlier to me. Here is the log, any ideas?

X4500 device disconnect problem persists
After applying 125205-07 on two X4500 machines running Sol10U4 and
removing "set sata:sata_func_enable = 0x5" from /etc/system to
re-enable NCQ, I am again observing drive disconnect error messages.
This in spite of the patch description which claims multiple fixes
in this area:
6587133 repeated DMA command timeouts and device resets on x4500
6538627 x4500 message logs contain multiple

ramfs to tmpfs
Hello,
I was using a bunch of cpios in initramfs as a working system, and
wondering why the unused files weren't being paged out to swap.
So I reread ramfs-rootfs-initramfs.txt and now I know.
So I wrote the attached utility. It creates a tmpfs, moves all files
on the initramfs, moves / and executes the real init.
It works, even with hardlinks, but it isn't the correct approach. Have

SATA errors in log
Hi,
I have a SATA PCIe 6Gbps 4 port controller card made by Startech. The
kernel (Linux viz1 2.6.32-220.4.1.el6.x86_64) sees it as
Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9123
I use it to provide extra SATA ports to a raid system.
The HD's are all "WD2003FYYS" and so run at 3Gbps on the 6Gbps controller.
However I am seeing lots of instances of errors like this

SMART problems with AOC-SAT2-MV8 / marvell88sx driver
I''ve been trying to get either smartctl or sg3_utils to report properly.
They both have the same low-level problems which leads me to suspect
either I''m doing something wrong OR there is a problem in the
marvell88sx / sd / SATA etc framework.
I can access drive name/serial number of all drives on the SAT2 card
and the temperature is returned from the IE log page on my two

NFS/SATA lockups (svc_cots_kdup no slots free & sata port time out)
I have a Solaris 10 U8 box (142901-14) running as an NFS server with
a 23 disk zpool behind it (three RAIDZ2 vdevs).
We have a single Intel X-25E SSD operating as an slog ZIL device
attached to a SATA port on this machine''s motherboard.
The rest of the drives are in a hot-swap enclosure.
Infrequently (maybe once every 4-6 weeks), the zpool on the box stops
responding and although we

Cisco 3620 PRI and Asterisk
Hi All:
I have a Cisco3620 with a proper T1/PRI card installed with asterisk
running on the same LAN. Since I have lit up the line, I can dial out
and make calls to regular lands lines. However when a call comes back
in it rings the destination phone once and disconnects.
Here is an error from my router

ZFS, SATA, LSI and stability
After having massive problems with a supermicro X7DBE box using AOC-SAT2-MV8 Marvell controllers and opensolaris snv79 (same as described here: http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-66-233341-1) we just start over using new hardware and opensolaris 2008.05 upgraded to snv94. We used again a supermicro X7DBE but now with two LSI SAS3081E SAS controllers. And guess what? Now we get

Drive problem
I was rsync'ing data from one system to another, and the recipient
suddenly started throwing DRDY errors. Now, it's a fairly new WD Red 3TB,
and I'd think it was just a bad drive... but I'm really confused by this,
from the logs:
Jun 15 15:34:43 <servername> kernel: ata3: SError: { Dispar }
Dispar? And googling, every reference I find to that word always has

ZFS 60 second pause times to read 1K
Every day we see pause times of sometime 60 seconds to read 1K of a file for local reads as well as NFS in a test setup.
We have a x4500 setup as a single 4*( raid2z 9 + 2)+2 spare pool and have the files system mounted over v5 krb5 NFS and accessed directly. The pool is a 20TB pool and is using . There are three filesystems, backup, test and home. Test has about 20 million files and uses 4TB.

Sweave Feature Requests and Questions
Hi everyone,
I would like to request the following features for Sweave:
1. The keep.source option, to respect empty lines in input.
2. The prefix.string option, to apply to all generated files, e.g. no
Rplots.pdf.
3. That Sweave, doesn't change the graphics settings for the entire
Latex Document. By default including a pdf image, should use it's
actual size, rather than making it a fixed

MCP55 SATA data corruption in FreeBSD 7
I am having problems with silent data corruption on (some) drives
connected to an MCP55 SATA controller.
I have two servers, both running RELENG_7_0/amd64. One has the 570 Ultra
chipset, the other has 570 SLI. Both chipsets have the MCP55 SATA
controller.
The server with 570 Ultra chipset has a bunch of older 250GB SATA-150
drives hooked up to the MCP55 controller and it is working just fine.
