Domain password policy with Samba AD DC
Hi Anantha, I now know (the hard way) that it's possible to manage the password policies with samba-tool. But through my futile trials and information on different web sites (very little documentation in the Samba wiki), it is evident that it's not possible using Group Policy Manager from the RSAT tool suite. IMHO, it's quite perplexing for a user that does not know Samba AD DC

Missing features in RSAT Group Policy Manager (Debian as Samba PDC)
I have been testing a Debian 11 (i386) server with samba 2:4.13.13+dfsg-1~deb11u5 running as an Active Directory Controller. This is a stand-alone DC, meant for user authentication for a small business network. I use RSAT Features on Windows 11 Pro to manage Users, Groups, Machines etc., which works fine. I would like create a new GPO using the RSAT Group Policy Manager to change Security

Newly applied GPO not immediately active
Hi folks, I have been playing around with implementing and applying GPOs on a Samba AD DC, using the RSAT tools. It seems that any changes take their time (at least 5 minutes, maybe more), and are not immediately active. I experienced problems when logging in on the affected computers (Windows 10), that the GPOs seemed to be incompletely applied. After a while, it worked though. It's not

I have already added a Win10 machine to a domain, where only Win7 clients were joined before that. I have managed this domain from Win7 only, so far. Therefore I believe that e.g. the Windows Update policy is not fit for

Windows 10 administrative templates /central store with Samba
Viktor, thanks again! Now that I did this (added the Win10 1511 ADMX files to the central store), I probably will have to recreate the policies that will be applied to Win10 machines, right?
