Problem after join samba 4.11 into windows-domain
We joined a samba 4.11 DC (sernet-packages) into a windows domain? with
round about 170.000 objects. After "commiting SAM database" has finished
after 21 hours we now have a database-file but if we try to list the
content with "ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/privat/sam.ldb" we get the
following error:
-------------------------
ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb

Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have
DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine,
and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or
add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local
security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding

commiting SAM database
We stopped the migration, because we had to many problems. For your
information:
The windows-domain was set up in 2002 with windows 2000 and was raised
up to windows 2012 over the years. The domain is responsible for the
login of all 20.000 students. So over the years they have over 170.000
Objects. For the migration we used the 4.11 sernet-packages. We started
with 32GB of RAM and noticed that

Are the hashes faster than activerecord finds ?
Hello, I need to store somewhere one hundred of static ressources text
field (internationalization).
I wonder if it better to put them in a database or in a hash defined at
app startup (in environment.rb)
I would go to the second one, but am I right ?
Thanks

Comparing two hashes
Ok, I''m trying to do an implementation of a blog client using rails.
I''m using a nice pre-built ruby module called "blog/client" - http://
raa.ruby-lang.org/project/blogclient/ - which has some nice methods
that wrap up XMLRPC/client calls and make the manipulation of structs
transparent to the main application.
My next task is to try and fetch the list of

Mysql password hashes- 16 byte vs 41 byte
I have a rails app that is (was) working with MySQL 5.0. Until
yesterday that is when I started mucking with the MySQL GRANTs.
Right now I have grants for the following:
User Host
root %
root 192.168.0.63
root localhost
The rails server is 192.168.0.63.
In database.yml I have used socket: as well as host: and I am getting
login errors despite having what I think are valid grants that map to

Samba4 LDAP password hashes
Hello,
I'm running samba4 and I installed phpldapadmin to connect to the samba
ldap. When I am logged in as administrator i can't see the password hashes
of my users or myself. Does samba need any extra configuration/ compile
parameters to view the password hashes? Or does samba has a default
"manager" ldap account?
Best Regards

catching frozen hashes
Hello
I have been wrestling w/ the frozen hash problem in a script and I''m
trying to catch this at the source where it crashes the program in
flames. Unfortunately, when I look at the errors, the failure is way
up in the active record ancestery chain.
Here''s the first entries in the error output:
