ppmtolss16, Permature EOF!
Hi , I am using syslinux-2.04. I used the isolinux boot loader, to create a customized boot cd. As an add on to that process, i thought of displaying the product logo in the bootup screen. So as the document suggested i went on to create the lss from png. But it failed with following message. $ ~archives/syslinux-2.04/ppmtolss16 < ipm-white.pnm > ipm-white.lss './ppmtolss16:

OT -- apcupsd messages
Does anyone here have any "feel" for the "Battery disconnected" and "Battery reattached" log entries? The rebooting came as a result of me turning off modems, router, external drives, monitor, cordless phone and finally, the computer, trying to locate a quiet but annoying "chirp". The "chirps" stopped when I tilted the UPS to look at the front

Apcupsd UPS monitoring
Having some fun with the APC monitoring daemon (apcupsd) - I've installed the Whitebox rpm and it runs OK but I cannot communicate with the UPS on ttyS0 or ttyS1. I'm using a supported cable (according to the utility's Web site). I've followed the troubleshooting tips on the app's Web site with no luck - the only bit that I can't resolve is it recommends disabling logins

Issue with apcupsd-ups?
Hello;I just came across NUT, testing FreeNAS/FreeBSD. I?m running at home a APC UPS connected to another computer, running apcupsd. I found out that NUT didn't talk by default to apcupsd, and there was a driver created relatively recently (apcupsd-ups), which filled in that gap. The version I found on my FreeBSD/FreeNAS system seems to imply that there is more to come to that driver (0.04)

apcupsd
Here's an odd one: I installed apcupsd, and it works with most of our UPSs. I'd swear it worked on this one. Then I replaced the Gin-u-wine APC batteries, which were dead, with new ones, non-APC. They're just dumb batteries, no chips or whatever on them. If I hook it up using a serial cable, I can get info. If I hook it up the way I had it, with APC's weird USB cable - and this is
