canvas url rewriting fails for templates loaded through ajax
I just encountered a bug that caused the links in my partials to be
generated as non-canvas routes when the partial was loaded via ajax.
This bug is due to facebooker url rewriting checking for fb_sig_in_canvas to
determine if the application is running in or outside a canvas, and
fb_sig_in_canvas is not sent for ajax requests.
My hacked together patch diff is below, sorry I didn''t have

BUG: Possible issue with escaped hrefs
I noticed an interesting problem today when scripting against a web
app. The application contained a link in it that used %20 instead of
spaces. After running mechanize through the Charles debugging proxy
I found that mechanize was converting %20 to %2520 (double escaping
the %20).
This appears to happen under both 0.5.4 and 0.6.0.
Here''s a simple set of files that demonstrate

Link_to_remote object missing
Hello, I''m in troubles trying to use ''link_to_remote'' on Rails 2.1.
Having this page:

{ :method => :put }) do |f| %>

Unit Test Error: `load_specification': undefined method `parse' for Time:Class
All,
I''ve come across a confusing problem when attempting to run unit tests
for an application on OSX (works on Windows).
I''m receiving the following error:
`load_specification'': undefined method `parse'' for Time:Class (NoMethodError)
This is also confusing because I can''t figure out how the error
appeared. When I revert back to previous revisions,

link_to_remote, image_tag, mouseover is this possible?
Hi guys,
I was wondering if you are able to have a link_to_remote, having an
image_tag and the link_to_remote has a mouseover event that updates a
div. Does the image_tag need the mouseover event? I currently have:
<%= link_to_remote(image_tag(@p_image.public_filename(:thumb)), :update
=> "big_pic", :onmouseover => {:action => :color_change, :id =>
@p_image.id})%>

How to test views with Nested Resources and Partials
Hi everyone,
I am relatively new to rspec and I am running into a wall in testing my
views. I have a RESTful resource Contracts with a nested resource of
Line_items.
I am trying to figure out how to test the "edit" form of the Line_items.
What complicates this is the nested routing and how to account for it,
and that there is a partial form (_form.haml) that both the edit.haml

[PATCH] helper to create fb css stylized table
I attached a rails helper implementation of the fb_table described here:
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Facebook_Styles
I included testing and comments. I hope you find it useful.
Curiously, it''s really a small extension of FBML.

Security issue: a user can fill cache with random urls
Say your app responds to : store/show/3 and caching is enable at the
store controller level.
A route says : map.connect ''store/:action/:id'', :controller => ''store''
All the following urls will be processed and cached (the cache
filling with ''page not found'' messages) !
store/foo/bar
store/show/090934298234897342

Facebooker-talk Digest, Vol 5, Issue 12
Hi all,
I wanted to test requests from internal facebook apps, so I''ve been
mimicking FBML requests from facebook in my tests using the following:
def test_can_facebook_internal_app_login
fb_login_as :facebooker
num_of_members = Member.count
facebook_request :get, :home
assert_response :success
assert_equal num_of_members, Member.count

Setting :canvas => false for URL generation doesn''t always work?
I generate a lot of URL''s in my Facebook related code that point to our main
site, not our FB app. My understanding was that the way to do this was to
use ":canvas => false" as a parameter to url_for and link_to and so on.
However, that doesn''t seem to generate the proper URL''s. The URL''s still
point to apps.facebook.com (because they

RSpec raising routing errors where Rails doesn''t?
Hopefully someone here can help me figure out why the ERB:
<% form_for(@fund, :url => {:host => PRIVATE_HOST}, :html => {:class
=> ''fund'', :multipart => true}) do |f| %>
raises an error in my specs:
No route matches {:action=>"index"}
but works fine in my app and generates the following, desired HTML:

Facebooker support for iframe apps
Hi facebooker-ers,
It looks to me like facebooker does not currently support iframe
facebook apps - or am I missing something?
My first problem as I understand it is as follows - When you are
logged into facebook, and access a facebook application,
facebook tacks on a whole lot of extra fb_sig parameters to the
request (including fb_sig_user) that the application can then
validate to

simple routing & linking question
So I have an existing app & facebook app in same rails application,
for now I have decided to go the route of creating a controller for
facebook stuff (called FaceController).
(setup is canvas, fbml)
So I have:
facebook config
http://myurl:myport/face/
My controllers name is face, so I dont even need a manual route, for
the landing page it works like a charm.
but, when I try to make

facebook_url_rewriting.rb
Here''s the fix for Facebook apps that specify a controller in their callback URLs. First, set this variable in your environment scripts:
ENV[''FACEBOOKER_CALLBACK_PATH''] = ''/controller''
# where controller is the name of your Facebook controller
And then patch vendor/plugins/facebooker/lib/facebooker/rails/facebook_url_rewriting.rb as shown in the
