RFI: Information for Centos 4 unsupported kernels
Hi, this may sound stupid, but; - I'd like to install unsupported x86/i386 smp kernel because I need some support (for eg. dual booting for r/w files for winXP) etc. I'm now using 4.3 latest smp kernel. (I've tested that x86 still runs better than x86_64 like I was told in January. Thanks for the advice.) Questions: Is there any documentation for how to install unsupported smp

Problem after installing audacity

Which version of Centos 4.2

RFI: recommendation for temperature monitoring
Good morning gurus, I would like to get recommendation for monitoring temperature for cpu using Asus P5WD2 motherboard and Intel D 820. I my installation has CPU cooling system changed from Intel bulk to Zalman CNPS9500 and it works. Normal Intel cooling system is not enough and is overheating cpu quite badly. Unfortunately Zalman has to be controlled (rpms) manually and thus I would like to see

After reading the digital shortcut and the documentation on the web site I''m confused. Which one should I use? pen, balance or nginx ? I don''t want to use a behemoth like appache and ssl is not needed so it reduces my choice to those three only.... What are the pros and cons of each? smbclient tar function : no password asked ?

removed centos from dual boot laptop (now having trouble booting)
HI all, I had centos on a laptop (dual boot xp). I am giving the laptop to another person so I removed centos. Now when I reboot grub is confused... I tried to manually enter rootnoverify (hd0,0) makeactive chainloader +1 boot This does boot into XP but how do I tell grub that this is the new rules and do this everytime at boot. Thanks, Jerry

Copying my system to another drive
Hi, I'm trying to copy my CentOS install to a new drive. - old drive is /dev/hda and had hda1 : /boot hda2 : swap hda3 lvm hda5 : lvm hda4 : /usr/local - new drive is /dev/hdb hdb1 : /boot hdb2 : swap hdb3 : / I decided to get rid of lvm which is useless to me. I've created and formated the new partitions and copied anything from the old drive to the new one

remote command execution
