Any recomendations for Motherboards?
What socket AM2 motherboards out there work well with xen (i.e. support > 4G ram, sata and lan chipsets work). I''m looking to probably run one of the lowpower Athlon 64 X2 4200''s in it. I''d also like to see atleast 4 ram slots. Anyone have any recomendations? Thanks, Doug _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

X2200-M2
After the interesting revelations about the X2100 and it''s hot-swap abilities, what are the abilities of the X2200-M2''s disk subsystem, and is ZFS going to tickle any wierdness out of them? -brian -- "The reason I don''t use Gnome: every single other window manager I know of is very powerfully extensible, where you can switch actions to different mouse buttons.

Unable to POST after suspend
Hi, I just tried the live CD for CentOS 5.0 on a desktop computer and decided to see if suspend worked. It seems it did, but I'm unable to start the machine again. It's a DIY system with an Asus K8V-X motherboard[1], an AMD Clawhammer 3200+ and 1 GB of Kingston ECC RAM. The system has been perfectly stable despite being utterly abused on a daily basis for almost 3 years. I've tried:

zfs - filesystem versus directory
Folks, While going through a quick tutorial on zfs, I came across a way to create zfs filesystem within a filesystem. For example: # zfs create mytest/peter where mytest is a zpool filesystem. When does this way, the new filesystem has the mount point as /mytest/peter. When does it make sense to create such a filesystem versus just creating a directory? # mkdir mytest/peter Thank you in

Efficiency
Hi list users, Is there a comparison somewhere of the efficiency of decoding flac files, with respect to some benchmark related to cpu processing? As compared to, say, ape files? I ask because I have recently switched my entire archive from ape to flac. I have an old 400 mhz laptop in my office running xubuntu, which I run into a receiver. Works great. Since switching to flac, I notice the

CF to SATA adapters for boot device
Has anyone here had any luck using a CF to SATA adapter? I''ve just tried an Addonics ADSACFW CF to SATA adaptor with an 8GB card that I wanted to use for a boot pool and even though the BIOS reports the disk, Solaris B95 (or the installer) doesn''t see it. I might give the IDE version a go (I really wanted hoT-plug), otherwise I''ll be able to store a couple of thousand

Assertion raised during zfs share?
Working to get ZFS to run on a minimal Solaris 10 U2 configuration. In this scenario, ZFS is included the miniroot which is booted into RAM. When trying to share one of the filesystems, an assertion is raised - see below. If the version of source on OpenSolaris.org matches Solaris 10 U2, then it looks like it''s associated with a popen of /usr/sbin/share. Can anyone shed any

Cheap ZFS homeserver.
So after toying around with some stuff a few months back I got bogged down and set this project aside for a while. Time to revisit.

Looking around there still is not a good "these cards/motherboards" work list. the HCL is hardly ever updated, and its far more geared towards business use than hobbyist/home use. So bearing all of that in mind I will need the

Best use of 4 drives?
I''m putting together a NexentaOS (b65)-based server that has 4 500 GB drives on it. Currently it has two, set up as a ZFS mirror. I''m able to boot Nexenta from it, and it seems to work ok. But, as I''ve learned, the mirror is not properly redundant, and so I can''t just have a drive fail (when I pull one, the OS ends up hanging, and even if I replace it, I have to

reposurgon and the conversion
My wife just got laid off - the recession has hit her law firm hard. This means my priorities have shifted to either finding more paying work myself or helping her find another job. This means the timeframe for a finished repo conversion just got more uncertain, as I may not be able to work steadily on it for a while. -- Eric S.

NFSV4?
Hi Timo, I just read about NFSv4 now being included in SuSE and Redhat Enterprise versions, and although I don't use it myself, wondered how this will impact Dovecot for those using it? Will it make life easier? Or is it even supported currently? Just curious... thanks... -- Best regards, Charles

SATA controler req
Hello, I'm looking for a recomendation for a SATA controlers. In the range of 4-8 ports, either PCI or PCIe (for desktop use) and/or PCI-X, PCIe (for server use). I'd especially like it if the Linux driver was already in CentOS or easily added. Everytime I find something interesting, a google search shows up either the drivers is for 2.6.30 (ie, not CentOS), someone tried it and it was
