Hi Folks, I'd like to use "start-stop-daemon" on my centos-machine. I know , it's debian-like. But I can't find "startproc" on my machine nor in the repos. What is the CentOS-replacement for "start-stop-daemon"? Thx Timothy P.S. I found a start-stop-daemon.c script - but how to compile it? gcc start-stop-daemon.c ends in much errors.

Hi Folks, CentOS 5.5 x86_64 Asrock-Board with 2 USB3 plugs. Normally USB3-drive is detected. But occasionaly after "umount" next time this drive or other ones will not be detected. I have to boot the PC - than it works - till next unrecognition. On USB2 plugs all works correct. No messages in /var/log/messages nor dmesg. What happens here? Board failure - or other reasons? Hi Folks, fresh CentOS 5.5 x86_64. One USB-printer connected (HP Business Inkjet 1200) Printing from localhost:631 (Testpage) works. But no from any application. From OO only the message: printer-problem - no more. Second printer is from far (Cupsd) in the network. Works well. But what's about the local printer? Any hints? Thx Timothy

Hi Folks, I'd like to install cyrus-imapd 2.4 in CentOS6. Found rpm cyrus 2.4 for CentOS6 on rpmseek. cyrus-imapd-2.4.17-30.1.x86_64.rpm But there are conflicts with postfix 2.6.6. Can I ignore this conflicts or is there a suitable version of ppstfix available? Thx Timothy

Hi Folks, I'm using VMWare on a Linux Host (CentOS) with a Linux-Guest Sidux). And I'd like to use NFS. Furthermore I'd like to use the Firewall in CentOS with this little GUI.
