elpa-ess fails to initialize after update to 18.10 on ubuntu bionic
Updates to Linux Mint included an update to ESS. After the update, M-x R
produces:
load ESSR: + + + Error in file(filename, "r", encoding = encoding) :
? cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In file(filename, "r", encoding = encoding) :
? cannot open file ?/usr/share/ess/etc/ESSR/R/.load.R?: No such file or
directory
Any guesses?
Thanks,

ESS and R
For anybody who uses ESS with R, how do you invoke the vsize and nsize options
when you call R. I can't find any appropriate variables from an apropos.
Thanks,

llvm-stress crash
Hi,
Using llvm-stress, I got a crash after Post-RA pseudo expansion, with
machine verifier.
A 128 bit register
%vreg233:subreg_l32<def,read-undef> = LLCRMux %vreg119;
GR128Bit:%vreg233 GRX32Bit:%vreg119
gets spilled:

ifelse() woes ... can we agree on a ifelse2() ?
All,
Martin: Thanks for this and all the other things you are doing to both
drive R forward and engage more with the community about things like this.
Apologies for missing this discussion the first time it came around and if
anything here has already been brought up, but I wonder what exactly you
mean when you want recycling behavior.
Specifically, based on an unrelated discussion with Henrik

ifelse() woes ... can we agree on a ifelse2() ?
Just stating, in 'ifelse', 'test' is not recycled. As I said in "R-intro: length of 'ifelse' result" (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2016-September/073136.html), ifelse(condition, a, b) returns a vector of the length of 'condition', even if 'a' or 'b' is longer.
On current 'ifelse' code in R:

IMPORTANT: APT repo temporary switched off
TL;DR: APT repo switched off due to excessive load / traffic
Recently we realized that APT repo generates almost 95% of I/O on
llvm.org and more than 40% of network bandwidth alone. During last 2
weeks the main services on llvm.org (svn, git, bugzilla) had serious
problems with overall connectivity.
We decided to temporary switch APT repo off to see if this would help.
Stay tuned for updates.
