First thing 4.11 is far far out of service you should not use it in a production environment. Use 4.17 or better 4.18 > the Linux server is a member of the Windows

File timestamp issue
Hi Thanks for the tip, but i have tried that too. No go. The only thing right now that works is to omit S from /COPY:DATSO, ie skip security descriptors. Makes no sense but that's what I have found out after dozens of tests. I will recreate the shares and be careful to follow Rowlands advise on setting the correct rights on the share. m?n 19 juni 2023 kl. 23:42 skrev spindles7 via samba

Implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack
Hi everyone, I've run into a bit of strange problem with implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack. I've included an example at the bottom of this email. The basic problem is that I have an S3 object with a print method. When the object is implicitly printed (ie. typed directly into the console) the function arguments in the call stack are exploded out to their actual values,

Test-ComputerSecureChannel -Verbose False since windows 10/11 update 07/2023
Hello, since we install the most recent windows updates from 07/2023 Test-ComputerSecureChannel -Verbose show False [4]. Moved the machine to local workgroup, deleted machine account on the ad controller and rejoined it (which works), but Test-ComputerSecureChannel -Verbose show again False. I'm not sure this is an issue on the samba or on the windows side. Affected samba versions so far:

Issue compiling Samba 4.11.6 with GNUTLS 3.6.12 (Not standard location)
Hello, I try to compile Samba 4.11.6 on an old SLES11 machine. There is an old GNUTLS installed. Since I do not have root access and I have to use a newer GNUTLS-Version, I have installed gnutls-3.6.12 in a different location and set PKG_CONFIG_PATH appropriately. The configure script has run successfully, but when I run make (with verbose option), I get this error: 17:44:33 runner

odd issue with permisions
I'm really confused about something. It seems like on my samba server the user AND GROUP permissions must match for me to access any files in my home directory. Here's an example of what I mean: ($ = at unix shell, > = in smbclient) $ mkdir ~dan/test1 $ chmod 700 ~dan/test1 $ smbclient -U dan //localhost/dan > cd test1 > put test1.txt (failure, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) > quit

Hm, samba 4.11.2-13 is running on CentOS? 8. Im not really into CentOS/RH im more Debian/Ubuntu.. But I suggest you try this. Remove [homes] ( or keep it but add a new one. ) Setup [users] Path = /home browseable = yes read only = no Test again against that new share, but not with smbclient alone, setup a cifs mount and test and/or use a windows client pc. Hi, I have been trying to use Winbindd in SLES 11 SP3 (Samba version 3.6.3-17.25.1) to fetch AD (Windows 2008 R2) identities into the Linux box and currently running into some problem w.r.t domain local groups and thought I could get some help here.. Odd problems making AD DC
I am experiencing a weird issue with samba when I am trying to configure it as a Domain Controller. I'm using Gentoo Linux, and after finally figuring that kdb5_util was looking for the krb5.conf file where Gentoo didn't put it, I was able to initialize the realm with kdb5_util create. But now when I try to start samba (the actual Samba process, not smb) it pulls kerberos and kerberos
