snapshot troubles
Dear all,
I created some snapshots, a long time ago, using the xml description
option, so the snapshots have a name with a space in it...
Really a bad choice apparently, since it seems impossible to delete them
now: I cannot find how to enter the snapshot name properly due to the
space. Quotes don't seem to help; escaping the space doesn't help either.
Anybody knows how to solve this?

how "safe" is blockcommit ?
Hi,
currently i'm following https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Live-disk-backup-with-active-blockcommit. I 'm playing around with it and it seems to be quite nice.
What i want is a daily consistent backup of my image file of the guest.
I have the idea of the following procedure:
- Shutdown the guest (i can live with a downtime of a few minutes, it will happen in the night).
And i think

If you want to stream at any bandwidth other than what the files were
recorded at, you'll need to re-encode using lame (or another codec). If you
rip the files at the same bandwidth you'll be streaming at, you won't need
it.

Disabling zfs xattr in S10u4
Hi,
I want to disable extended attributes in my zfs on s10u4. I found out
that the command to do is zfs set xattr=off <poolname>. But, I do not
see this option in s10u4.
How can I disable zfs extended attributes on s10u4?
I''m not in the zfs-discuss alias. Please respond to me directly.
Thanks

Live snapshots of a single block device
Hello,
I am working on a script to automatically create live snapshots of running VMs using qemu-kvm 1.4.0 and libvirt 1.0.2. If a VM has multiple disks, I'd like to back them up individually with separate calls to snapshot-create-as, so I can more easily manage the disk images. The code I have now is essentially as follows:
virsh snapshot-create-as --domain "vmname" --name

Changing expired Samba AD password during Windows login
I'm running a Samba AD 4.7.4 and cannot set a new password for a user
with an expired password during login from a Windows PC. Changing a
password from inside a login with cntl-alt-del "change password" works ok.
I've already decreased the minimum password age to 0

sudo 1.6.9 versus sudo 1.7.2 behavioral differences with umask settings
Two servers, each have normal user umask values of 0077 and root umask
values on 0022.
On the first server (CentOS 5.4 i386) running sudo 1.6.9pl7-5 (from
base), here are the results of touching a file as a user, as root and as
a user sudoing to root:
user: touch file - result is 600
root: touch file - result is 644
user: sudo touch file - result is 644
On the second server (CentOS x86-64)

Feature Request: Control over IMP IDLE 'OK Still Here' message timings
Hi all,
I would like to make a feature request regarding IMAP Idle support.
Currently when a client triggers Idle support, Dovecot then sends 'OK
Still Here' messages every 2 minutes. This is apparently to prevent
NAT systems killing the tcp connection and disconnecting the client.
However, while this may be fine for desktop clients, this rapidly
drains the battery life of mobile

Should Selenium support be doing rollbacks?
Now that 0.7.0 is forcing me to write properly compartmented specs, I
thought I''d give the "dead easy Selenium support" a try.
Is it supposed to all the things that rspec normally does for me, or is
it just for using rspec-like grammar to surround Selenium tests?
Specifically, should it roll back the database between specifications?
I just did a quick test, and the result

Migration Rollbacks
Another question about migrations.
When I type:
===========
rake migration VERSION=1
===========
The value in the schema table change to ''1'' but none of the down
commands are issued to drop the respective tables. Am I doing
something wrong here?
Thanks :-)

ZFS speed degraded in S10U4 ?
Hi Guys,
I''m playing with Blade 6300 to check performance of compressed ZFS with Oracle database.
After some really simple tests I noticed that default (well, not really default, some patches applied, but definitely noone bother to tweak disk subsystem or something else) installation of S10U3 is actually faster than S10U4, and a lot faster. Actually it''s even faster on

Strange behavior zfs and soalris cluster
Hi All,
Two and three-node clusters with SC3.2 and S10u3 (120011-14).
If a node is rebooted when using SCSI3-PGR the node is not
able to take the zpool by HAStoragePlus due to reservation conflict.
SCSI2-PGRE is okay.
Using the same SAN-LUN:s in a metaset (SVM) and HAStoragePlus
works okay with PGR and PGRE. (both SMI and EFI-labled disks)
If using scshutdown and restart all nodes then it will

Rollbacks, Sqlite3 bug
Okay - so the sqlite bug reported a day or so ago on the list is real
bug. I''m going to file something in the tracker for that...
I also learned that before(:all)...after(:all) is not wrapped in a
transaction, the way before(:each)...after(:each) is. Is there some
reason behind this? Can you not wrap transactions inside transactions?

Question, how to coorelate snapshot ID's to the files that they represent?
Hi folks, first post :)
I'm running Redhat 6 x64 with ibvirt-0.10.2-18 and qemu-img-rhev-0.12.1.2-2.355
My question is, if I do something like the following..
[root@testbox ~]# virsh snapshot-list STIGtest
Name Creation Time State
------------------------------------------------------------

Rollbacks, Sqlite3 bug. Has this been reintroduced ?
Hey,
I just updated from the edge and it looks like this _issue_ has resurfaced.
Yesterday things were working (stories and specs).
No code base changes, only rspec and rspec_on_rails
After updating today I now need to set <config.txn...fixtures> to false in
the spec_helper.rb
to get the specs running, the stories are fine. Looks like the fixture
loading is trying to start a txn.
