Netatalk and Samba???
Hi all, Looking for a "best practices" way to share out to both Mac and PC easily. I know Windoze enables the same sharepoint for both the mac and pc shares and there don't seem to be any real "problems" by doing that. However I work in an environment which forces us to utilize Win9x through XP as well as OS 9 through 10.x on the mac side. I need a user friendly way to

Large disk support
I have a 3.5 TB RAID 5 Array through a 3ware 9590SE 8 port card, and am running into what seems like quite a lot of problems trying to get the system installed correctly. The system is a running dual Opterons with 2 GB of RAM, and I'm attempting to install through the x86_64 ServerCD. First, grub refuses to install on the disk, as it's too large. I can get around this though by

rpmforge/dag's perl-Apache-ASP
Has anyone actually had any success in installing the perl-Apache-ASP package from rpmforge? CentOS 4 seems to have just the right combination of almost using mod_perl 2 (1.99 before major API changes) to make this extremely hard to get right while staying with somewhat standard packages. I suspect it's in the repo but not actually tested, as I've tried quite a few combinations of

Problen with vsftpd and chroot

I've got the http and nfs working but am having some trouble with ftp. I'm using vsftpd as the ftp server. I can log in to the ftp server and get to the pub (/var/ftp/pub) directory. Apache 2.2X
Hello All. I am trying to set up a rails+mongrel+mod_proxy_balance application. Unfortunately the stock apache install on centos is the 2.0 series which does not support mod_proxy_balance. I could not find the 2.2X RPMs on dag or dries either. Is there a yummy way to upgrade to the 2.2 series of apache? I tried with the individual RMPS but no joy there due to comples web of dependencies.

Centos-4.3: Filelocking problems under high [network related] load with kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp
Hi, first of all, please CC me on any reply, as I am only subscribed to the digest. OK. Here is the problem. Said kernel (from 4.4) seems to have problems with file-locking when the system is under high, likely network related, load. The symptoms are things using file locking (rpm, the user-space automounter amd) fail to obtain locks, usually stating timeout problems. The sytem in question is

another iscsi question
I have an iscsi array that I'd like to mount and share using NFS and I need it to happen without user intervention on a reboot. In the default configuration this doesn't seem to work very well because the iscsi intiator isn't started until after the network is up (obviously) and by that time all local filesystems are mounted. I can't mount the partitions in rc.local because NFS

Replay mail to test MTA + filtering
Hi All, My kit : Centos4.4 + Postfix + SA + ClamAV (not that its relevant) General question - Does anyone know of a product which can take a folder / mbox of mail (spam, ham, virus infected stuff, scam mail and hoaxes) and "replay" it back against a test server to determine the servers ability to filter? I have looked at some low level (IP) packet replayers, but i cant really find
