4.6 update overwrote my /usr/lib/python2.3/site.py file
We had some custom additions to our site.py file for a third party
application. 'yum update' to 4.6 overwrote the file with no backup or
warning. Not hard to repair, but it did have me worried there for a
few minutes when the application failed to start.
Is this a python issue, an upstream issue or a CentOS issue? Can
something be done about it going forward?

Python/sqlite date time problems.
Bear with me, this is CentOS related. :)
I have a python CGI that's behaving weirldy on Whitebox systems
that've been switched over to CentOS 4 (ages ago, no other problems to
speak of aside from this one).
I've broken the problem down to a minimal test case...

Python dependency in packages?
I apologize if this isn't the correct destination for these errors,
but I tried installing xen on my ubuntu (breezy badger) system via:
deb-src http://packages.debianbase.de/sources/xen3 ./
and then tried building locally via apt-get source xen.
The only problem appears to be the explicit python2.3 dependency in :
debian/rules
debian/libxen-python.install
a simple s/python2.3/python2.4/

Xen from source and Python error
Hi all...
I want to build my own domU and dom0 kernel. But when i do a "make
world" I get something like "invalid python installation" and "can''t
find /usr/lib/python2.3/config/Maikefile".
I found the same problem in "xen-users" archive but the server is so
slow that i can''t get the post. Only Google shows me that it''s there.

libxenstat python bindings
Hi
I seem to be having a little trouble with libxenstat, and was wondering
if the xenstat guys might be able to help.
I''ve pulled the xen-unstable.hg tree and done a somewhat clean install
(ie, post-make uninstall, as well as deleting the relevant libxenstat
libraries).
Next, I entered the tools/xenstat/libxenstat directory and modified the
Makefile so that the shared libraries would

Yum breaks after updating to CentOS 4.6
Hi everyone,
Yum on one my CentOS systems has decided to stop functioning after an
upgrade to CentOS 4.6. It's complaining about errors with
Python-SQLite packages?
Any ideas anyone? Here is what happens.

rpm problem after upgrade
Hi,
I have upgraded Centos from 3.x to 4.3.
The upgrade apparently didn't go too bad. I had to do the upgrade
remotely, and I used as a base the post at
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=382
I rebooted the server, and it works. But yum does not work anymore,
apparently due to some conflict between rpmlibs and selinux.
This is the error that I get:

No module named snack
Hi everyone--I'm back on the list after some time not managing any Centos
