Problem with a if statement inside a function
I have a really long functions, and at the end of the function, I am using a if statement to tag certain keywords based on whether they have certain values contained in them. However, the if statement doesn't seem to work. When I had split up the commands into various functions, it worked fine, but I'm not sure what going on now that it's combined into a single function. myfunc

Best Practices recommendation on x4200
Greetings all- I have a new X4200 that I''m getting ready to deploy. It has four 146 GB SAS drives. I''d like to setup the box for maximum redundancy on the data stored on these drives. Unfortunately, it looks like ZFS boot/root aren''t really options at this time. The LSI Logic controller in this box only supports either a RAID0 array with all four disks, or a RAID 1

system unresponsive after issuing a zpool attach
Today I attempted to upgrade to S10_U2 and migrate some mirrored UFS SVM partitions to ZFS. I used Live Upgrade to migrate from U1 to U2 and that went without a hitch on my SunBlade 2000. And the initial conversion of one side of the UFS mirrors to a ZFS pool and subsequent data migration went fine. However, when I attempted to attach the second side mirrors as a mirror of the ZFS pool, all

DBase File locking issues
Hi All, I am experiencing issues with the use of DBase files on a Samba 2.0.5a share, that appear to be due to locking problems. Basically, I have test programs for both DOS and Win32 that does nothing but append records to a DBase database (DBF/MDX files). If more than one client PC is appending to this file, data loss occurs. I get random data loss, with records lost, and index file

Mulitple Indexes or one big index??
I was wondering, is it better to maintain one large index or several smaller indexes? I am allowing users to upload files whose corresponding data is subsequently parsed and indexed. The problem is that each of these documents has different fields (which the user defines) and this makes searching and displaying search results slightly difficult. I tried to attach a unique ID to each file
