really large number of skipped files after a scrub
Hi, Just to follow up my first observation from this email from december: automatic scheduled scrubs that not happen. We have now upgraded glusterfs from 7.4 to 10.1, and now see that the automated scrubs ARE running now. Not sure why they didn't in 7.4, but issue solved. :-) MJ On Mon, 12 Dec 2022 at 13:38, cYuSeDfZfb cYuSeDfZfb <cyusedfzfb at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > I

[PATCH] Page scrubbing
Hi! Make scrub_heap_pages() print from where to where it scrubs pages. Signed-off-by: Christoph Egger <Christoph.Egger@amd.com> This patch uncovers a strange behaviour on 32bit. On 64bit I get this: (XEN) Scrubbing Free RAM 0xffff830000100000 -> 0xffff83003fff0000: ....done. On 32bit I get this: (XEN) Scrubbing Free RAM 0xffc00000 -> 0xdefb0000:

internal scrub keeps restarting resilvering?

scrub on snv-b107
scrub completed after 1h9m with 0 errors on Tue Feb 17 12:09:31 2009 This is about twice as slow as the same srub on a solaris 10 box with a mirrored zfs root pool. Has scrub become that much slower? When to Scrub..... ZFS That Is
When would it be necessary to scrub a ZFS filesystem? We have many "rpool", "datapool", and a NAS 7130, would you consider to schedule monthly scrubs at off-peak hours or is it really necessary? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Data corruption during resilver operation
I''m in well over my head with this report from zpool status saying: root # zpool status z3 pool: z3 state: DEGRADED status: One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected. action: Restore the file in question if possible. Otherwise restore the entire pool from backup. see: http://www.sun.com/msg/ZFS-8000-8A

pausing scrub crashed scrub daemon on nodes
Hi, I am using glusterfs 3.10.1 with 30 nodes each with 36 bricks and 10 nodes each with 16 bricks in a single cluster. By default I have paused scrub process to have it run manually. for the first time, i was trying to run scrub-on-demand and it was running fine, but after some time, i decided to pause scrub process due to high CPU usage and user reporting folder listing taking time. But scrub

resilver question
Hi all I''m seeing some rather bad resilver times for a pool of WD Green drives (I know, bad drives, but leave that). Scrubbing only checks used data?
Hi there, I am currently evaluating OpenSolaris as a replacement for my linux installations. I installed it as a xen domU, so there is a remote chance, that my observations are caused by xen. First, my understanding of "zpool scrub" is "Ok, go ahead, and rewrite each block of each device of the zpool". Whereas "resilvering" means "Make

pool died during scrub
I have a bunch of sol10U8 boxes with ZFS pools, most all raidz2 8-disk stripe. They''re all supermicro-based with retail LSI cards. I''ve noticed a tendency for things to go a little bonkers during the weekly scrub (they all scrub over the weekend), and that''s when I''ll lose a disk here and there. OK, fine, that''s sort of the point, and they''re

Faulted Pool Question
I just got a call from another of our admins, as I am the resident ZFS expert, and they have opened a support case with Oracle, but I figured I''d ask here as well, as this forum often provides better, faster answers :-) We have a server (M4000) with 6 FC attached SE-3511 disk arrays (some behind a 6920 DSP engine). There are many LUNs, all about 500 GB and mirrored via ZFS. The LUNs

Define storage pool on NFS, mounted from fstab
Good day. We've got a question, as there's a need to mount NFS over RDMA. How we should define a pool on an already mounted NFS folder? The pool must be "shared" for all KVM nodes for live migration purposes. Thanks in advance.

Disabling zfs xattr in S10u4
Hi, I want to disable extended attributes in my zfs on s10u4. I found out that the command to do is zfs set xattr=off <poolname>. But, I do not see this option in s10u4. How can I disable zfs extended attributes on s10u4? I''m not in the zfs-discuss alias. Please respond to me directly. Thanks Balaji

devid support for EFI partition improved zfs usibility
Hi, guys, I have add devid support for EFI, (not putback yet) and test it with a zfs mirror, now the mirror can recover even a usb harddisk is unplugged and replugged into a different usb port. But there is still something need to improve. I''m far from zfs expert, correct me if I''m wrong. First, zfs should sense the hotplug event. I use zfs status to check the status of the

resilver speed.
Is there any way to control the resliver speed? Having attached a third disk to a mirror (so I can replace the other disks with larger ones) the resilver goes at a fraction of the speed of the same operation using disk suite. However it still renders the system pretty much unusable for anything else. So I would like to control the rate of the resilver. Either slow it down a lot so that the

zpool-poolname has 99 threads
After an upgrade of a busy server to Oracle Solaris 10 9/10, I notice a process called zpool-poolname that has 99 threads. This seems to be a limit, as it never goes above that. It is lower on workstations. The `zpool'' man page says only: Processes Each imported pool has an associated process, named zpool- poolname. The threads in this process are the pool''s

How to interrupt a zpool scrub?
Dear all Is there a way to stop a running scrub on a zfs pool? Same question applies to a running resilver. Both render our fileserver unusable due to massive CPU load so we''d like to postpone them. In the docs it says that resilvering and scrubbing survive a reboot, so I am not even sure if a reboot would stop scrubbing or resilvering. Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers, Thomas
