C7 ansible 2.3 become_method: su not working
I just don't know what else to try. I've beat my head on this for 3 days now and it's becoming obvious that either Ansible 2.3 is a complete disaster, or the CentOS 7 package is a complete cluster. Here's my problem. I am working on getting an ansible server to manage about 100 or so CentOS 6 servers. All have an unprivileged user account setup (up to 3 years before I got

Dovecot fts script with solr
Hello again, I have created a parser script, a little bit more advanced than the one provided with Dovecot. The main feature is probably to index documents inside zip/rar/tgz archives... I am using Ansible, swaks and doveadm to run automatic tests for each supported content. For specific reasons, I am not yet able to add Apache Tika to the distribution. However, I already made some tests

Computing window sizes and adjustments
In SSHv2, the data that consumes window space is that sent in the channel data and channel data extended messages. My question is, how is the data that consumes window space reckoned? One would have thought that it is the total length of the message itself, but the standard seems to imply that only the data contained in the data string field in the messages above is to be taken into account. That

[PATCH FOR DISCUSSION ONLY 0/2] v2v: Copy static IP address information over for Windows guests (RHBZ#1626503)
...adding a few thoughts around this proposal. There are times when we need to preserve the IP/MAC address(s) for VM migration for things such as: 1. Licensing tied to the IP/MAC address 2. Complex configurations such as HA clustering 3. Anytime network preservation is needed to run post configuration playbooks in some migration solutions 4. Using in OS agents to manipulate networking may not

two samba servers just stopped working :-(
I have two samba centos7 samba server VMs. One at work, one at home. These are ansible servers and I have a share on them that I mount from windows 10 workstations where I use sublime text to edit my playbooks. They are domain joined (different domains) and use AD authentication - think they are setup with Kerberos iirc , sssd realmd. So this was all working find two weeks ago, then

Mixins?
As is often the case when I tackle a new platform/language, I get the big picture very quickly (because frameworks are frameworks are frameworks) but its the nitty-gritty of the language that bogs me down... So I have some similar methods on a few of my model classes that I wanted to push into a helper. Now I reckoned that the Ruby way was to create a module and mix it in with include. However, I

CTDB Question w/ Winbind
Hi Martin, you seem to do a lot of work on CTDB. Let me ask a question... Is there a way to segment CTDB/Samba to minimize chatter? Specifically, what I have in mind... In recent years advances have been made in distributed SQL databases (ideas which are applicable here) whereby the communication profile between peers are minimized, and synchronization is never necessary except in circumstances

[Gluster-devel] Request for Comments: Upgrades from 3.x to 4.0+
Just so I am clear the upgrade process will be as follows: upgrade all clients to 4.0 rolling upgrade all servers to 4.0 (with GD1) kill all GD1 daemons on all servers and run upgrade script (new clients unable to connect at this point) start GD2 ( necessary or does the upgrade script do this?) I assume that once the cluster had been migrated to GD2 the glusterd startup script will be smart
