ZFS support for USB disks 120GB Western Digital
Hey,
I have a portable harddisk Western Digital 120GB USB. Im running Nevada b42a on Thinkpad T43. Is this a supported configuration for setting up ZFS on portable disks ?
Found out some old blogs about this topic:
http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/artem?entry=zfs_on_the_go and some other info under: http://www.sun.com/io_technologies/USB-Faq.html
Is this information still valid ? Under ZFS FAQ

Slow zfs import solved (beware iDRAC/ILO)
Just a note to pass on in case anyone runs into the same situation.
I have a DELL R510 that is running just fine, up until the day that I needed to import a pool from a USB hard drive. I plug in the disk, check it with rmformat and try to import the zpool. And it sits there for practically forever, not responding. The machine still responds to network connections etc., it''s just the

Mercurial repository for zfs-crypto
First let me say I''m deeply sorry for the mail storm that seeding the
new hg/zfs-crypto/gate repository caused.
An explanation of what happened and why can be found on my blog:
http://blogs.sun.com/darren/entry/sorry_mercurial_hg_push_oops
There is also a discussion going on in the tools community on how to
ensure this doesn''t happen again:

Core Dump: create_transaction (p=0x0) at pbx_dundi.c:2787
Anyone seen this...? Is it a known issue?
I'd file a bug, but we're on 1.2.9.13, and every time I file a bug and it isn't against the latest code I get given crap for it. Given that most of the time you don't know HOW to reproduce a problem on the latest code anyway, not accepting bugs from older versions does the community no service, because potential bugs are never accepted for

Can one set limits on new core dump?
Hi all,
Is there anyway to limit the new core dumping panics?
Can't find anything on it. (If I'd only looked in that ...)
Was my mistake, but winbindd filled up an entire volume
and froze out every process writing to that drive.
I started it from a shell and my soft limit is
already zero. (ulimit -S -c 0)

That's not v2.2.18 release though, it's the hg version after v2.2.18 release.

3.0.28 continuously dumping core
Hello all
Compiled 3.0.28 from source and get continuous core dumps. The machine
running as PDC continous to work though.
Core dumps are reproduceable and happen when, for example, I am trying
to connect to a share that does not exist as well as when I install a
new printer driver using the Microsoft wizard thing.
We are running two other machines with 3.0.28 without any core dumps at all.

Fedora Core 6 (FC6) and Asterisk-1.2.13 and Zaptel-1.2.10 compile problems
All,
I have upgraded by home machine from Fedora Core 5 (FC5) to the recent FC6 and am struggling to build Zaptel-1.2.10 and Asterisk-1.2.13 on the box... which is an Intep P4 2.8GHz HT processor box with 845 chipset, hence the kernel installed is 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-i686 so we hve this:
[root@gate zaptel-1.2.10]# uname -a
Linux gate.tubby.org 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 14:54:20
