simlinks and options
Greetings.
I wrote a script that make remote backups with rsync. I have 2 main
problems with it
1) I want that the destination directory (on the repository machine)
recreate the backed up file path and it permission (I use -R here )
2) Is there a way to "follow" all the links using -R and -a parameters..??
Currently I am using something like this.
rsync -al --delete

ZFS filesystems not mounted on reboot with Solaris 10 10/09
I have a system that was recently upgraded to Solaris 10 10/09. It
has a UFS root on local disk and a separate zpool on Iscsi disk.
After a reboot, the ZFS filesystems were not mounted, although the
zpool had been imported. `zfs mount'' showed nothing. `zfs mount -a''
mounted them nicely. The `canmount'' property is `on''. Why would they
not be mounted at boot?

Obvious reason for not looping twice?
Is there an obvious reason why this won't loop to i=2 and beyond?
There are many combinations of *st* & *vc* that don't exist in svc. For
example, when s=1 there's only an entry at v=1. That's fine, the entry can
stay 0.
lookup.svc <- array(0,dim=c(length(unique(svc$st)),length(unique(svc$vc))),
dimnames=list(unique(svc$st), unique(svc$vc)))

kernlab:ksvm:eps-svr: bug?
Hi,
A. In a nutshell:
The training error, obtained as "error (ret)", from the return value
of a ksvm () call for a eps-svr model is (likely) being computed
wrongly. "nu-svr" and "eps-bsvr" suffer from this as well.
I am attaching three files: (1) ksvm.R from the the kernlab package,
un-edited, (2) ksvm_eps-svr.txt: (for easier reading) containing only
eps-svr

registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its
Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some
appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry
"vulnerabilities"
which are detailed in the attachment.
I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these
issues are
legitimate concerns,

cross validation in rvm not working? (kernlab package)
Hi,
according to ?rvm the relevance vector machine function as implemented in the kernlab-package
has an argument 'cross' with which you can perform k-fold cross validation.
However, when I try to add a 10-fold cross validation I get the following error message:
Error in match.arg(type, c("C-svc", "nu-svc", "kbb-svc", "spoc-svc",

[PATCH v2] xen: sched: introduce hard and soft affinity in credit 2 scheduler
Modified function runq_candidate in the credit 2 scheduler to
have it consider hard and soft affinity when choosing the next
vCPU from the run queue to run on the given pCPU.
Function now chooses the vCPU with the most credit that has hard affinity
and maybe soft affinity for the given pCPU. If it does not have soft affinity
and there is another vCPU that prefers to run on the given pCPU, then as

connect to DRb server from rails controller ?
I haven''t done any DRb stuff in awhile, but I used to connect to a DRb
server from
a rails controller. I''ve never tried it in rails 3 and am wondering if
Rails 3 is stricter about something like this or why it hasn''t worked
thus far.
My server/client code and error are shown below:

AIX and SAMBA shares
I?m trying to join the domain enough to share folders from an AIX 7.2 (fully patched) server. Right now SAMBA 4.18 is what is installed, and when I run the net ads join command it just hangs.
Any help with that would be appreciated. Some details below:
