Weird DNAT + passive FTP bug
Hello,
I''m observing a weird bug with ip_nat_ftp in a somewhat more complicated
constellation. It''s possible that XEN is also involved in this, but I''m
not sure.
What I''m trying to do is have XEN guest domains on a host, connected via
a bridge into a private network. The the privileged domain attaches to
this private network and acts as a NAT router to connect

+ CentOS 6.3 Guest (HVM,PV)
* Environment 2
+ i7-2600 CPU

script to shape outbound passive/active ftp traffic
Hi,
I just wanted to share my script with the list. I have been trying to
shape outbound passive and active ftp traffic without affecting inbound
and lan transfers. I have tried to do this for a long time and it seems
that I have finally figured it out.
Feel free to comment on the below script if there is anything that can
be improved. It seems to work flawlessly so far.
#!/bin/bash

limiting outbound passive ftp
Hi,
I am trying to use the following script to limit my passive ftp traffic
to 35KBytes.
Problem is, it kill''s the entire connection on that computer. The
script is running on the same machine as the ftp server. I was hoping
to limit the ftp traffic, and only the ftp traffic, leaving the computer.
It seems to limit everything, i tried transfering a file with samba and

Anyone might know what is wrong?
#!/bin/bash
#shaping passive ftp traffic
# mark the outbound passive ftp packets on ports 50000-51000

MICE passive imputation formula
Hi all,
I have a question about multiple imputation within the MICE package. I want to use passive imputation for my variable called X, because it is calculated out of multiple variables, namely Y, Z. Let's give an example with BMI. I know, that if I want to use passive imputation for BMI, I can use the following command:
meth["BMI"] <- "~I(weight/(height/100)^2)"

FirewallD and FTP passive mode
Howdy
I'm trying to run FTP server behind firewall. And i can't enable passive
mode from the Internet. There are plenty howtos but there aren't many
with my combination.
For now i have configured port forwarding and ftp server itself.
On the router:
# firewall-cmd --list-all --zone=external
external (active)
interfaces: enp3s1
sources:
services: openvpn ssh
ports: 1194/tcp

Unable to do passive ftp after updating to 2.0.9
Hi,
I''m using the same set of firewall rules of 2.0.x
(sorry, I can''t remember the exact minor version) and
put it to work with 2.0.9. And now I can''t do passive
ftp (was working before).
I see that my NEWNOTSYN is set to Yes, and the
loc->net rule is blocking 1024:65535.
But I believe with the ip_conntrack_ftp, the passive
mode would be allowed, since

VSFTPD passive mode is not working
I have Centos 5.7 64bit; I have installed vsftpd as standalone service and using it for two years now with no problem. Suddenly; only it works with active mode. The passive mode stops working and gives time out. Firewall is disabled and SELinux is set to permissive.
I ran tcpdump and I noticed that only first three packets reached the FTP for passive mode and no more packets on other ports

vsftp passive mode / iptables issue
I've been struggling with my firewall and getting vsftp to work in
passive mode.
It seems that everything on this hosting server works just fine without
the eth0 entry in my iptables except for vsftp in passive. Am I opening
up too much by adding the eth0 line?

Passive OS fingerprinting and conditional firewalling
Hi all,
there''s an interesting citaton on kerneltrap.org, mentioning the addition of
passive OS fingerprinting to the OpenBSD firewall
(http://www.kerneltrap.org/node/view/770 for those interested)
This new feature enables the possibility of triggering customized firewall
rules according to the (detected) incoming OS, in a fully passive way.
I was wondering if the above would be

[LLVMdev] Query Regarding instruction ordering of passive nodes
Hi All,
I'm trying to compile the attached code(gdb11531.c) with latest clang with -O0 on ARM.
Clang seems to be reordering the instructions in case of constant nodes(for ARM) even when O0 is specified resulting in few wrong information when debugging through GDB.
I had few queries,would be great if someone could clarify the same -
In the given assembly code, the instructions where constant

ISDN passive card (HiSAX driver) / Fax reciever
Hello all.
I have an ISDN passive card (HC HFC 2BDS0) using HiSAX driver (since
this is a passive card, I can't use the CAPI driver... ). "All" I want
is recieve faxes and store them on diferent folders depending the
destination number. So far I was able to do a similar thing with voice

add geo-replication "passive" node after node replacement
Hi,
When S3 is added to master volume from new node, the following cmd should
be run to generate and distribute ssh keys
1. Generate ssh keys from new node
#gluster system:: execute gsec_create
2. Push those ssh keys of new node to slave
#gluster vol geo-rep <mastervol> <slavehost>::<slavevol> create
push-pem force

add geo-replication "passive" node after node replacement
Hi all,
i had a replica 2 gluster 3.12 between S1 and S2 (1 brick per node)
geo-replicated to S5 where both S1 and S2 were visible in the
geo-replication status and S2 "active" while S1 "passive".
I had to replace S1 with S3, so I did an
"add-brick replica 3 S3"
and then
"remove-brick replica 2 S1".
Now I have again a replica 2 gluster between S3 and S2

FTP DNAT not working - "Server sent passive reply with unroutable address"
Hi all!
I am a long time lurker, but have not posted until now.
My old trusted firewall machine broke a couple of weeks ago and I replaced it
with a XEN domU that is using DNAT and has two interfaces. The firewall domU and
the FTP server domU are both guests on the same dom0. All three machines are
running Debian/etch (stable) and Shorewall has version 3.2.6.
I can''t get FTP to work
