keepalived on centos 3.4
Is anyone successfully using dag's keepalived-1.1.10-1.1.el3.rf on
centos 3.4?
It's giving me some strange issues (LVS Topology never shows up, even
though I can manually set it w/ ipvsadm)
Attempting to rebuild it has been less than successful, as anyone who
tries will see in their appropriate BUILD/keepalived-1.1.10/config.log
and in the rpmbuild output. It complains about openssl

Can't build wine on Red Hat Fedora
Hi!
I get this error when I'm trying to compile wine 0911 release on Red Hat Fedora (with gcc-3.3.1-5) using the tools/wineinstall script.
Can someone please tell what is wrong? I could't compile last month's wine either. There was a segfault at the end of the installation process, when it reached some "wine registry".

Fw: VPN setup problem - proxy arp I think
Hi all,
I read the setup at http://www.blackh0le.net/articles/vpn-dun-howto.html to setup my VPN.
However, I'm having a problem which I think is proxy-ARP not working. I like to ask you to see if you know what's going on. When I ping 10.77.1.1 from windows XP machine the packets get to the 10.77.1.1 machine, but they don't have a return path to get back. When I do ping the windows

NFS, acls, proto, and "kernel: svc: unknown version"
Hi all,
1) My NFS3 clients don't display or obey existing non-POSIX ACLs on
files of NFS3-mounted exports.
2) setfacl on the client throws error and fails :
# setfacl -m u:stowler:rw testfile.text
setfacl: testfile.text: Operation not supported
3) at time of client mount the server's /var/log/messages shows
"kernel: svc: unknown version (3)".
Any thoughts greatly

Configuring svc:/system/xvm/domains?
I''m running Xen on Nexenta Core, and I haven''t yet figured out how to
control which DomU''s are started with svcadm enable
svc:/system/xvm/domains:default.
virsh doesn''t seem to be available with Nexenta Core, so I''d rather edit
the configuration files by hand. However, I''ve found neither
OpenSolaris or Nexenta documentation on how this is

Checking and setting svc properties in Solaris
Hello folks,
I''ve been looking into how I might check (and possibly set) svc
properties via puppet.
The closest I''ve found, is the provider/service/smf stuff.
However, that seems to only allow enabling and disabling of services.
NOT of configuring properties.
Is there some way I dont know of, how to do that?
If not, and I need to write something... under which module/plugin/

Entourage on Dovecot 09.11, is 1.0-test the answer?
Background:
I'm running a RH9 box with Dovecot 0.99.11. Dovecot was installed using yum and the rpm found on http://dag.wieers.com/packages/dovecot/. With two exceptions I've been enormously happy with Dovecot. I'm even happier having recently successfully installed pop-before-smtp sop one exception down. However the other problem I've experienced is becoming critical.
I've

Issue with Crossbow on VirtualBox
Team,
We are trying to install Crossbow on VirtualBox. Siva first tried it on

Hyderabad Open Solaris User Group alias.

Today both of us tried it on VirtualBox running on OpenSolaris. Both
attempts have the same results.

Reclaiming transmit descriptors by NIC drivers with Crossbow new scheduling
The following is mainly a capture of parts of multiple off-line
discussions within members of the Crossbow team
(Gopi, Thiru, Roamer, May-Lin, Thirumailai, Nitin, KB, ...), I thought
I''d open it up to other participants.
Crossbow''s core scheduling involves switching a NIC (or individual Rx
rings on the NIC) to polling mode.
The receive interrupt will become not only rarer,

Crossbow Architecture approved at PSARC commitment review
Smooth review. The case was approved unanimously by the members present.
This is the summary of actions:
. Advice to the team to follow on issue djr-02, clarifying the rationale
for -p vs -a.
. TCR - Add a format specifier (e.g. -F gnuplot) to show-usage
. Two spec updates:
- EOF of the VLAN PPA hack removal
- Clarify mac_intr_t
. Opinion fodder about the extensibility of the

Dovecot 0.99.9.1 and openssl-0.9.7a-5
Hi Timo and others,
Thanks for Dovecot! I just got it running under Red Hat 9.0 after
spending many hours unsuccessfully trying to get Courier IMAP to run,
although I have done it in the past. Here is a compilation glitch which
may already be well known:
I compiled dovecot-0.99.9.1 on my newly installed and recently updated
(via Red Hat Network) system and the compilation stopped due to a
