YA-2496
Hi. I've been browsing the archive on this topic and only found a few notes, all dating from a year ago (almost too precisely :) ) -- hope I haven't skipped the mails on that matter, sorry if I did. <p>Basically, I will get in the next few months a MOTU 896, that have 8 i/os in 24/96. I do pro sound recording, so it's more or less my business to have such a piece. Of

r-base build: failure to convert R-FAQ to pdf
We have received an email in Ubuntu alerting us that something strange was going on during the r-base 2.7.1 rc build (see [1]). It seems that there is an error during the convertion of R-FAQ.texi to pdf. The following excerpt, taken from [2], shows the problem: /bin/sh: line 0: test: too many arguments TEXINPUTS=".:$TEXINPUTS" /usr/bin/texi2dvi --texinfo="@set UseExternalXrefs

maximum likelihood accuracy - comparison with Stata
Hi everyone, I am looking to do some manual maximum likelihood estimation in R. I have done a lot of work in Stata and so I have been using output comparisons to get a handle on what is happening. I estimated a simple linear model in R with lm() and also my own maximum likelihood program. I then compared the output with Stata. Two things jumped out at me. Firstly, in Stata my coefficient

Best way to handle multiple (6+) streams
Could you use something like a MOTU firewire box to input all your streams into one computer? They have lots of audio inputs. I don't know anything about the practicalities I'm afraid, so no idea how to turn those inputs into separate streams. But I'd much rather do that than run 8 separate computers. Ubuntu 64
Dear sig-R-Debian I'd like to second Christophe Bonenfan's plea for an up-to-date Ubuntu 64 (and maybe an up-to-date Debian 64) repository(ies). There seems to be no "easy" way, at least for Debian 64, to stay up-to-date on a 64 bits Debian-derived system, "easy" meaning being able to keep a consistent system up-to-date with no local package creation and no

[PATCH] tweaks to the kate properties reported by oggzinfo
Hi, Language should be Content-Language to match other uses, and while there I think Category might as well become Content-Category too, though this one doesn't "exist" AFAIK. I'm pretty sure these things come from some standard, but I have no idea where, so if you know, feel free to point my in the right direction. Cheers -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

Problem installing/updating Rpmi

[LLVMdev] Installation problem
Hi, It looks like the permissions aren't set for read access for non-root users. The command for fixing that is "chmod". If you look up chmod in the man pages of the Ubuntu help files it should give instructions on how to use it. I hope this helps, --Sam --- On Mon, 8/25/08, August Karlstrom <fusionfile at comhem.se> wrote: > From: August Karlstrom <fusionfile at
