PHP XapianTermIterator/XapianPositionIterator usage
Hello again, /thanks to Peter for previous response. I've been digging around trying to find sample usage of XapianTermIterator/XapianPositionIterator in PHP. The idea is to code up a test case in PHP to perform snippet extraction (with a possible view to coding a pecl extension in C). I found a C++ sample, but that wasn't much help. I must be dense this morning though, since I

Segmentation fault in MSetIterator get_weight
Hi, I'm using xapian with c# and mono and i'm having a segfault in get_weight. When i print the index variable, the value is clearly too high. I think something write over it. Do you have any idea on how i could trace the beginning of the segmentation fault ? Thanks, -- Yann

Test for the end of PostingIterator in perl?
Hi all. I want to iterate over all the documents in my database. my $pi = $db->postlist_begin(""); while ("$pi" =~ qr/END/) { my $oldid = $pi->get_docid; $pi++; #... } That used to work with Search::Xapian in perl version 1.2, but now with xapian-bindings-1.4.4 it does not seem to. How are you supposed to tell when you have reached the

So while running configure of the Xapian library I gave the -prefix option and everything installed

Compact databases and removing stale records at the same time
I'm trying to compact (or at least merge) multiple databases, while stripping search records which are no longer required. Backstory: I've inherited the Cyrus IMAPd xapian-based search code from Greg Banks when he left Opera. One of the unfinished parts was removing expunged emails from the search database. We moved from having a single search database to supporting multiple

The entry of Xen's exception handler
Hi, I am trying to understand the exception handler of Xen. In xen/arch/x86/x86_64/entry.S, the entry of the page fault handler is : ENTRY(page_fault) movl $TRAP_page_fault,4(%rsp) jmp handle_exception Here I did not get why to put the exception vector ($TRAP_page_fault) to stack before calling handle_exception? Thanks, -- Xinxin

error building xapian
I'm getting the following error when trying to build xapian. I've tried versions 0.9.1 and 0.9.2, same error. It's a x86 debian box, gcc 4.0.1. It builds fine on my gentoo amd64 box (gcc 3.4.3). Any ideas? Thanks, Alex make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/mcam/xapian-core-0.9.1/backends/flint' Making all in inmemory make[3]: Entering directory

how to delete all document from the DB (without deleting the DB itself)
Hello, I'm still testing PHP5 bindings and I could'nt find a way to delete all documents from a DB without deleting other informations stored in the DB such as synonyms. Since the process of adding synonyms is time consuming, I would like to use the same DB but restart my test without any document in the DB, is this possibile? I could'nt find a delete_all or a method like that, nor

xapian 1.4 performance issue
Hi, I have had reports that Recoll has become unbearingly slow in some instances. After inquiry, this happens with Xapian 1.4 only, and the part which does not work any more is the snippets extraction. Recoll builds snippets by partially reconstructing documents out of index contents. For this, after determining a set of document term positions to be displayed (around the hopefully interesting

[RFC PATCH 0/2] GLOBAL() macro for asm code.
Hello, This series has been split into two patches, one for arm and one for x86. I figured that this was easier than doing it as a single combined patch, especially as the changes are functionally independent. x86 has been boot tested, but arm has not even been compile tested as I lack a suitable cross compiler. However, the changes are just text replacement, so I dont expect any issues. The

Strange index consistency issue
Hi, A Recoll user is reporting an index corruption problem. In general, index corruption happens from time to time with Recoll, because of crashes, reboots, misc Recoll bugs, etc. The strange thing here is that xapian-check does not seem to detect anything. In a nutshell, some document numbers seem to point to a data blackhole: the docids are returned when searching for the file/doc unique
