Hi all, I can't boot the recent linux distro with this recorder CDRW 4x4x32 (Z041 is firmware version suppose).
I have this message:

I try to change the cdrw and now I can install distribution like slackware or sabayon, but I don't know the reason of this problem.
thanks

SOLVED: CDRW-DVD Mount Problem, Centos 5.1, Intel board...
Problem has been solved: "sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom -o"
mounted the drive after adding "mount /mnt/cdrom" to /etc/festab.

Direct access to SCSI cdrw
Hello,
I tried to install Yamaha cdrw at FreeBSD 5.1.
At 4.8 stable all was Ok.
Now I have in kernel configuration sym device.
But cdrecord shows message "No such file or directory.
Cannot open SCSI driver".
Maybe I must have /dev/sym0 device or something else?
If yes, then how to create it with help of devfs?
There are no much info in devfs's manual.

USB DVD/CDRW not automounting
I 'just' noticed that my USB DVD/CDRW is not automounting in my Centos 5
installs.
Various USB drives do: USB flash drives, USB multi card drives, and USB
IDE converters.
I can issue a: mnt /dev/cdrom /media
but why is this needed?

I'm having a problem mounting my new
CDRW DVD in my new machine I just built. The motherboard is an Intel
DP35DP, and I connected the CDRW DVD via ribbon cable into the
motherboard IDE slot. Centos 5.1 is installed and functioning fine
so far (other than this problem).

cdrw firmware update
Hello,
I need to do a firmware update for my cdrw and because of a missing linux
program for doing that I thought of using wine for trying it.
I call the programm FlashTool.exe and no error messages occur. (The
surface really looks great!) The programm detects correctly the flashable
cdrw-drive even with ide-scsi and the non-flashable cdrom. But then when I
click on "continue" nothing

CDRW and DVDRW support in Centos 4.4
HI, I configured a minimum install on Centos 4.4 and then added
postfix+dovecot+openwebmail
I want to use Mondo Rescue (disaster recovery solution) and the program
needs CD-R/RW and DVD-+R/RW support.
What are the packages required to install via yum to provide support for the
creation of CD/DVD?
I know mkisofs and cdrecord are two of them, what others?
thanks,

[PATCH] speex-xmms endian problems fixed
I found a problem with trying to use the speex plugin for xmms on my
PowerBook G3 'Pismo' PPC machine, running kernel 2.4.19. It turns out
that the kernel sound driver ignores the endian of the data format flag
and instead expects the data to be native endian. This is the same
problem that was affecting speexdec.
I have now fixed this problem, and another compilation issue that I
found. I

Drive use in wine
I'm running Wine release 20011004 and have created the floppy and CDs
drives for my floppy, CD and CDRW. I am automounting the devices.
1. I've noticed that if I don't have a floppy or CD in the drive wine
ignores it and even if I insert a disk later the app (notepad) never sees
it.
2. I have two CDs, one a Creative DVD and the other a Plextor CDRW, and
I've created the

Pretty recent, I updated a couple days ago. I tried to minimize the
attached but at the same time I didn't want to lose too many unions
and casts in case it didn't trigger any more.

xmms-plugin problems
Hi,
i'm using xmms-plugin from flac-0.9, i found following problems.
Back-seeking cause, that .flac is not played all. It's caused by
StreamDecoderPrivate variable samples_decoded and function
stream_decoder_frame_sync_, which compare it against whole length of stream.
I don't know what is meaning of this varible (samples decoded from last reset
or for whole life of decoder). So i

KDE and mounting CD's / DVD's without noexec
Hi e,
I am normally use gnome and would do the following to make my CD / DVD
mount with exec
gnome-mount --write-settings --device /dev/sdc0 -o exec
What is the equivalent in KDE ? My initial research suggests that I
actually have to write a custom udev rule to achieve this.
This has led me as far as running
udevinfo -q path -n /dev/scd0
udevtest /block/sr0 (the output is below)

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] [Embtk] [compiler-rt] ASAN: Add mips support
This simple patch makes asan compile for mips (tested on mips32r2el).
The following test code:
int main()
{
char *x = (char*)malloc(10 * sizeof(char*));
free(x);
return x[5];
}
leads to the following output at runtime:

AddressSanitizer on SPECCPU2006
Hi
I am using SanitizerCoverage feature supported by clang to get the
basicblock coverage.
my tested binaries are spec cpu2006. I compiled the binary with the option
COPTIMIZE = -O0 -fsanitize=address -fsanitize-coverage=bb -flto
-fno-strict-aliasing -std=gnu89 -gdwarf-3
After the compiling process is end. I run the 400.perlbench. with the
command
ASAN_OPTIONS=coverage=1 ./perlbench.
