Fwd: error, While mounting an Audio Cdrom.
Hi,
I tried to mount an audio cdrom to listen to its music. But It gives the
below error.
why is that ?

Re-mounting guest CDROM
I am trying to install multiple patches from CDROM. However the eject cd function does not work and if I umount /dev/cdrom it's gone forever unless I re-start the guest.
Any suggestions?

using audio CDROM with EAC & Suse 10.2 (wine)
I could use some help setting up Exact Audio Copy using wine 0.9.24 and SuSe
10.2 with KDE 3.5xx
My problem is finding the audio cd, If I put in a data disk, hal will
update /media/.hal.mtab will have an entry and create a temporary mounting
point such as /media/new I probably could use that in winecfg to set up a
mounting point for wine. However if I insert an audio disk, the hal system

Mounting an ISO or FS Location as a CDROM in WINE...
Is it possible to mount either an ISO Archive file, or a location within my File System, as a CDROM which WINE can use as such? If so, then how can I do that?

Inquiry:Problem in mounting external cdrom
Dear All
I tried to mount an external cdrom on my CentOS 5 server but un-successful .
I attached the device to my USB port and then the followings have been added
to my /dev folder :
"cdrom -> scd0
cdrom-sr0 -> scd0
cdrw -> scd0
cdrw-sr0 -> scd0
cdwriter -> scd0
cdwriter-sr0 -> scd0"
To this end , I tried to mount it as the followings (but it didn't get

Please be informed that I needed to mount my cdrom on my CentOS 5.2 client ,
but unsuccessful . I tried as the followings :
#mount -t vfat /dev/cdrom-hdc /mnt/cdrom
Add the following line to /etc/fstab :
/dev/cdrom-hdc /mnt/cdrom vfat noauto,users,noexec,rw,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0
#mount /mnt/cdrom
But I cannot see the CD content . Can you please do me favor and correct me

mounting CDROM without mapaping UC to LC
Hi!
this is surely a newbie question, so I should know the answer, but
I'm fighting with mounting a CD such that filenames are NOT mapped to
lowercase (I need to use its on-board tools for accessing files on it
while mounted on Centos 6.5, and those tools assume uppercawse, since
they assume the entire world runs Windoze.)
but despite my best efforts, it keeps being mounted with UC-LC

How to get 4.3 updates without 4.4 upgrade
Well, I want to stay on an even keel, here with 4.3 for a week or two.

you try curl this host and address from node?

Hmm that's bad, because if curl was disabled, we really want to have
QEMU refuse to startup,

Resolved this morning,
the issue is that the qemu-kvm-ev rpm's released by centos have not been compiled with curl support, I rebuild it myself from source with curl support and it works fine now.

Problems with SATA DVD+-RW drive
I just got a Dell Dimension e521 (AMD 64 x2, nVidia MCP51 chipset) and
so far it has been fine. Today I tried to burn some CD-R and DVD-R
disks and have been able to do nothing but make coasters. The drive is
a TSST TS-H653a (Samsung OEM) and does have the current firmware.
Playing back data, audio, and video disks work just fine, but recording
is a different matter.

forcing linux kernel 3 to recognize cdrom as hdX
Hello,
I have a problem with older version of anaconda linux installer. I have
upgraded kernel in my distro, but, when this anaconda boot with new 3.4.52
kernel, can NOT find cdrom. As far as I understand, this is because the new
kernel recognize cd drive as srX, scdX instead of older hdX with 2.6.18. At
the moment I can not upgrade anaconda and forced this kernel to recognize
it as before.

wasted bits and audio drop-outs
I hear momentary audio drop-outs (silences) in some flacs I have encoded. These occur at the same time as "wasted bits" messages in my mplayer output.

Change in audio file while listening to it

does anybody know how to handle the following problem?
I update some gsm audio files every 10 minutes, by rewriting directly on them.
I've noticed that if the file is being played by asterisk exactly in
the moment when I rewrite onto it, who is calling hears a small
"jump" and then it is the updated file that starts being played,
starting from about the same
