Unwanted behaviour of bw.nrd: sometimes, zero is returned as a valid bandwidth
Dear all, Sorry if I am posting to the wrong place, but I could not find the link for registration on the bug tracker, that?s why I am writing here. I think there is inconsistency between two R functions from the stats package, bw.nrd0 and bw.nrd. Consider the following vector: D <- c(0, 1, 1, 1, 1) bw.nrd(D) returns zero bandwidth for this object even without a warning. Considering the

[LLVMdev] Concerning http://llvm.org/ProjectsWithLLVM
Thanks for the report. The attached patch removes them from the page. OK? AES update..
I've done a decent size update of the OpenSSH portable from the upstream tree. There is an AES upgrade that needs to take place, but I need people to test and tell me what endedness changes need to be applied (if any). Attached is the patch. It is geared towards the latter snapshots..Unsure how it will patch (if at all) against 2.9pX series. Thanks. - Ben "This is dark day in

ntconfig.pol policies for groups
Hi! I have a problem using ntconfig.pol-policies for domain groups other than "Domain Users" and "Domain Admins". I am using Samba 2.2.7 with LDAP support as a PDC. Policies work as expected for "Domain Users" and "Domain Admins" but setting policies for any other group doesn't work. The "Browse"-list for AddGroups in poledit only shows

if problem in function
Dear all, I have written a function for calculating the volume of a tree (=trad) or snag (=h?gst). The included volume regreesion model includes ten parameter values, which are tree species specific. bj?rk.formh?jd.pars is an object which includes the parameter values (parameter set) for birch (=bj?rk). There is one row per tree in the data object. > relev.kols[1:5,

samba-3.0.0-rc4 and Domain Admins
Hi! I am experiencing problems adding a user (e.g. smbadmin) to the "Domain Admins" group on my samba-PDC using the ldapsam backend. When I add "Domain Admins" as a supplementary group, the Windows 2000 client doesn't treat smbadmin as an admin. However, using "Domain Admins" as the primary group (including setting sambaPrimaryGroupSID as

Faked samba packages / rootkit?
Does anybody know of these samba packages? http://ftp.cvut.cz/samba/samba-latest.tar.gz AFAICS they are faked and contain some kind of rootkit (you can see this in the history below. the server this history is from is taken offline for security reasons, and nobody is there till 7th Jan I can't give you more details) > 144 w > 145 cat /etc/issue > 146 uname -a > 147

Additional output in cancor
Hi everyone, Can I suggest an additional output component in cancor, from package mva? It would be useful to have the number of canonical correlation vectors, equivalently the rank of the covariance between x and y (label "rank"). This would usually be min(dx, dy), where dx and dy have already been computed for the svd function, but there might be situations where it was less than

Implement VLIW Backend on LLVM (Assembler Related Questions)
Hello, I want to implement LLVM backend for a specific VLIW hardware. I am working on defining its instruction set, and assembly language. The hardware has two pipelines, int and float. Each pipeline can do 3 operations/cycle, 3 operations forms an instruction. One of the Integer Instruction looks like this: add Ri, Rj, Rk; add Rl, Rm, Rn; add Ro, Rp, Rq An int instruction and a float

Cubic splines in package "mgcv"
re: Cubic splines in package "mgcv" I don't have access to Gu (2002) but clearly the function R(x,z) defined on p126 of Simon Wood's book is piecewise quartic, not piecewise cubic. Like Kunio Takezawa (below) I was puzzled by the word "cubic" on p126. As Simon Wood writes, this basis is not actually used by mgcv when specifying bs="cr". Maybe the point is

integrate over an infinite region produces wrong results depending on scaling
Dear all, This is the first time I am posting to the r-devel list. On StackOverflow, they suggested that the strange behaviour of integrate() was more bug-like. I am providing a short version of the question (full one with plots: https://stackoverflow.com/q/55639401). Suppose one wants integrate a function that is just a product of two density functions (like gamma). The support of the

<= returns wrong result? Why
Dear all, Does anybody know the probable reason why <= gives false when it should give true? These two variables are of the same type, and everything works in the cycle but then it stops when they are equal. this is the output result > Rk[47] <= RB[21] [1] FALSE > Rk[47] [1] 0.002842007 > RB[21] [1] 0.002842007 Thanks a lot. [RFC] Interprocedural MIR-level outlining pass
Hi Violeta, I compiled with clang -Oz and clang -Oz -mno-red-zone for comparisons against Oz and clang -O0 and clang -O0 -mno-red-zone for comparisons against a default clang. I unfortunately don’t have the clang commit I worked with on my home laptop, and don’t have access to the computer I was using at Apple, so I can’t help you there. I have tried to figure out the error from the mailing list but couldn't find the solution. Any help is highly appreciated. problem with boot
Hello R-users, I'm using the boot's library. I have two questions: 1. I execute for example data<-rnorm(100) boot(data,mean,500) and I obtain 500 equal bootstrap samples of data. Why? 2. I need to calculate the bootstrap confidence intervals for a statistic, but when I use the function boot.ci it shows the error message: Error in if
