index locally
> Do you know if is possible to store indexes locally instead of NFS in dovecot 2.2.7 ? Yes you can set different paths for mail and index storage. mail_location = maildir:/mnt/email/%n/_folders:INDEX=/local/email/%n/_dovecot:CONTROL=/local/email/%n/_dovecot However in my experience when i did this the indexes seemed to have issues keeping updated across multiple machines. Host verification problem
Hi, I have a problem with the host verification of ssh in several networks of the same structure: In all cases there is a router or a firewall with an official IP address, making the ssh-ports of several hosts with RFC1918-addresses available through NAT or TCP forwarding. Thus, different hosts appear on the same IP address, just with different ports. Since SSH uses the IP address but not

samba 3.0.7 and os/2
Hello, samba v3.0.7 on suse linux v9.1 os/2 v4.x I have started the process of replacing our os/2 hosts with linux, starting with the server(s). Most of the problems have been firewall related, a topic only briefly discussed in the docs (nudge). Some of the hosts can now interact with the linux samba shares; not all though. I have run ip traces and have gotten to a point that is a

Self-heal's behavior: problem on "replace" -- it leaves garbage.
Hi. I'm using GlusterFS v1.3.12 (glusterfs-1.3.12.tar.gz) via FUSE (fuse-2.7.3glfs10.tar.gz) on CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (Linux kernel 2.6.18-92.el5) now. The nodes are HP Proliant DL360 G5 (as GlusterFS Client) and DL180 G5 (as GlusterFS Servers). And the connections are all TCP/IP on Gigabit ethernet. Then, I tested self-heal and I found a technical problem about "replace" -- self-heal

CIFS Session transfer
Hi All, I would like to know if this is possible and if possible what is the complexity. Consider a CIFS client, SAMBA Server1 and Samba Server2. Say a session is established between a CIFS client and SAMBA server1. Is it possible for the SAMBA server1 to transfer/redirect/reestablish the connection to SAMBA server2 without the CIFS client knowing about this? The session between the CIFS

Question about acls
Hi, I''m not much of a developer but I''ve been using backgroundrb for a while now and with the release of 0.2.1 it looks like I can finally upgrade from the old version (0.2.0 had some weird issues when jobs just wouldn''t run, seems to have cleared up now - Thanks!). Anyhow, while I''m doing this, I would like to tackle this problem. Most tasks I run in

Samba AD - two servers - backup and restore AD procedure
Hi All! I would be grateful for clarification of my doubts about backups and restoration of the AD environment. What is the best strategy for backing up and restoring a Samba AD domain in the following scenarios: * server1 - active directory service (7 FSMO roles) * server2 - active directory service + Samba file server The considered disaster recovery scenarios are: - Corruption of the AD

Internal DNS and Replication
I'm trying to join a Linux server running Samba 4.0.4 as a DC to an existing AD domain. The current DC (server1) is running Server 2008 not R2. The Samba server (server2) is using internal DNS. I'm following "Samba4/HOWTO/Join a domain as a DC" from the wiki. The join seems to work, but I'm having problems with DNS replication. During the join many DNS records for

automounter with users home directories on centos 7.
----- Original Message ----- | Not tried automount with Centos 7 nor with selinux. | | With that said autofs relies on nfs mounting to work, so have you | started there by attempting to manually mount /home? | | Another place to look is at the hostname. I've had problems where auto | mount doesn't like the short name and insists on using a FQDN, to get | around that you could try using

using NUT on centos 5
Hi! Trying to set up NUT on Centos 5 to monitor a CyberPower 1500AVR UPS. There seem to be many documents, all of which seem to be not fully consistent with each other, and most of them aren't up to date. I'm guessing I should be using udev rather than hal, but I'm somewhat stumped on how to figure out what device it should be monitoring. there are a bunch of udev rules installed

I have two pc's running linux and using rsync to perform a backup from server1 to server2. For example: rsync -avzr -e 'ssh -i/root/.ssh/id_rsa' --delete /home/samba/admin/software
