kbcached tuning on CentOS 4.4
If this is the wrong mailing list (though I doubt it is). Could someone please direct me to the right one? Should this question be directed to LKML instead? kbcached tuning on CentOS 4
Hello, I've been searching to no end at how to tune at what interval (or size) kbcached will be flushed. I had been chasing a potential memory leak until "sar -r", had revealed that all the "mysteriously used" memory was actually being taken up by the kernel data cache. It is chewing up all unused memory on the system slowly over time, which is a concern. Various

Poor network performance on Dom0 [2.6.18-6-xen-amd64]
I am experiencing poor network performance on Dom0. When i ping other hosts on the same LAN, packets are out of order, and they show response times ranging from < 1 ms to several seconds, and some packets get lost. For example, a typical ping result looks like this: 87 packets transmitted, 80 received, +3 errors, 8% packet loss, time 86038ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev =

Boot ISO Using Memdisk on UEFI ONLY System
What ISOs are we talking about? If it is linux, they can usually be booted from UEFI. The VMs just boot up with the default network interface model which is 100Mb, is there a way to set it to a 1Gb model? Cheers, Justin.

make error for R-2.3.0
Hello, I'm trying to install R on a linux machine running Red Hat 8. I ran ./configure make and get the following error. I've installed several versions of R (2.2.1 most recently) on this machine and haven't had any problems until now. I wondered if the outdated compiler (gcc version 3.2) was the problem and attempted to install my own, more recent version. I tried gcc versions 4.1.0

please suggest a web page automation tool
I''ve been trying to get a couple of web automation tools going today and having a hard time. Seems like everything I try is outdated and won''t run on my environment. Mechanize seemed like a good one but it doesn''t want to run: require ''rubygems'' require ''open-uri'' require ''mechanize'' agent = Mechanize.new

Boot ISO Using Memdisk on UEFI ONLY System
Hello, I'm sorry to bother, but was hoping that someone might be able to help me with this situation. I have a multiboot that I've maintained now for years, with no issues running on MBR or UEFI-CSM; however, I've now been tasked with using this on newer Dell systems which do not allow any kind of MBR booting whatsoever. I finally have my menu populating, but when any ISO attempts to

only seeing one NIC in network device editor
Hi, When I click on "Edit Network" on my managed node in the hosts tab of the oVirt UI I only see one NIC. My managed node has 2 NICs, one on the guest network and one on the admin network. The NIC on the admin network is not listed in the network editor. Is this normal? I'm trying to create a VM and boot the cobbler profile I created for Fedora 10 but I can only boot the VM

Live Upgrade Solaris 10 UFS to ZFS boot pre-requisites?
I have a Solaris 10 U5 system massively patched so that it supports ZFS pool version 15 (similar to U8, kernel Generic_141445-09), live upgrade components have been updated to Solaris 10 U8 versions from the DVD, and GRUB has been updated to support redundant menus across the UFS boot environments. I have studied the Solaris 10 Live Upgrade manual (821-0438) and am unable to find any

Solaris Dovecot dovecot dovecot-1.0.rc27
To all, I am using Dovecot on solaris 10. Home directories are mounted using NFS. However, they are not readable by root. I compiled Dovecot from the source. I set the following environment variables: export LDFLAGS='-L/local/software/openssl/lib -R/local/software/openssl/lib' export CPPFLAGS=-I/local/software/openssl/include Then I ran gmake and the gmake install. In the server

Dual boot network install
I think this is probably a dual purpose, pxelinux/syslinux question, but I'll ask here first since this is probably of interest to a number of people. Has anyone set up a network install so that an admin simply installs a blank hard drive, turns on the computer (pxe enabled, of course) and walks away. And then, N minutes (hours) later has a multi-boot system which can boot both Windows 2000

Unable to assign cobbler image as boot device
If I edit a VM and assign the operating system to an image I created under cobbler I get a http 404 error when I attempt to save the settings. The following is shown in the rails log. 69.x.x.x network in rfc1918
I came across a problem when one of our clients was not able to access any of the servers on our network. This person has never connected to us before and now for this first time was trying to do it from his home is Houston, TX using earthlink cable service provided by Time Warner. All this information, I think, is important because when I started examining my shorewall logs I found out

make install on solaris 10
We have recently upgraded to Solaris 10 on a couple of sparc machines with the usual mildly mysterious consequences for library locations, etc, etc. I've managed to configure R 2.1.0 for a 64 bit version with: R is now configured for sparc-sun-solaris2.10 Source directory: . Installation directory: /usr/local C compiler: gcc -m64 -g -O2 C++
