Bug#384739: Just hit that too
I just hit the problem too, but in digging into it I found that the post-inst script was running the dh_installinit bit which tries to start the daemon, before the dh_pycentral bit, which makes the python modules available. I manually ran "pycentral pkginstall xen-utils-3.0" then xend would start and the postinst script could finish. - Nick Lopez nlopez@espri.arizona.edu

Problem : Debian xen package removal & installation
Hi All, I'm working on Xen 3.0.2 installation upon Debian 4.1.1-13(kernel 2.6.17.13) Although I spent 2 days to set up Xen 3.0.2, it is failed to install Xen 3.0.2 with several installation manuals which I got from google. I think several trials of Xen installation made my debian system dependancy broken, so when I tried to remove xen-utils package from Debian, it made some errors as

Bug#655301: Status check for Wheezy
There's no date defined yet, but Wheezy freeze will happen soon. How do we plan on concluding on this bug report? Recap for the actual bug I reported: If you want to start xapi, execute the following steps: 1) Start /etc/init.d/xend 2) Stop /etc/init.d/xend 3) Start /etc/init.d/xcp-xapi Step 1 is required because you need access to /proc/xen/ Step 2 is required because xapi cannot run

Slow pkginstalls due to long door_calls to nscd
Hi all, I am installing a zone onto two different V445s running S10U4 and the zones are taking hours to install (about 1000 packages), that is, the problem is identical on both systems. A bit of trussing and dtracing has shown that the pkginstalls being run by the zoneadm install are making door_call calls to nscd that are taking very long, so far observed to be 5 to 40 seconds, but always in

Binary distributions
I have just finished compiling Samba 2.0.7 and creating HP-UX swinstallable bundles for both HP-UX 10.20 and 11.00. In both cases I compiled with the +DAportable flag so that the linker would create PA-RISC 1 code, for hardware portability. If anybody has a need for pre-compiled HP-UX bundles I'd be happy to make these available. I can also compile on AIX 4.3 and SunOS 4.13 / Solaris 2.6

Installation woes for rattle (and other packages)
Yesterday I wanted to try rattle on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I had (and still have) it running (though it complains on startup a bit -- I'll look into that later) on a different bootup on the same machine with 8.04 Hardy. I got an error that libglade cannot be found, and various attempts to get glade support failed. I removed and reinstalled R -- same problem. To avoid the issue of local setup

samba fails to start.
After a hiccup or two with Samba not wanting to restart, I opted to look for a pid/lock file and found none. Tried to correct by restarting the server and had no success with samba restarting. There are no errors in smbd.log I did apt-get upgrade. No help I did apt-get remove samba, samba and swat went away. I did note that the XXXX pid was not found during install when samba was to be killed.

Need help understanding Rails magic!
Hi, I''ve just been pleasantly surprised, again, by how much Rails does for me, but I am *really* surprised. Surprised as in "how the heck did that happen?" I''d really like to understand this and would appreciate any help. Big picture... the user is presented with a form that allows them to select one or more check boxes to record their allergies. The form uses the

Problem Updating from 2.71 to 2.8 in Ubuntu
Hello, I have recently installed Ubuntu (8.10) Intrepid Ibex and I am trying to get R version 2.8. I have changed my /etc/apt/sources.list file to include a mirror. I have also added the Vincent Goulet key. However, whenever I run sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install r-base it installs version 2.71. Given that I am new to Ubuntu, is there anything that I need to do to make ubuntu get

Scriptaculous Autocompleter and new values
Hello. I''m using the Autocompleter to display suggestions when the user enters text in an input field. Sometimes the user wants to add text that is not among the suggestions but that is the prefix of one of the suggested entries. What''s the best way to accomplish this (the problem is, that the first matching entry is selected automatically and can''t be deselected)?
