After compiling R-2.6.1 with gcc-4.2.1 pressing the 'delete' key three times in
an interactive session causes R to malfunction, spitting out an infinite stream
of errors. I have also replicated the issue in R-2.5.1:

Suggestion - an article about R in Linux Journal
I don't know if this has already been done, but anyway ...
I'm hooked on R (and I'm only a newbie ... :-) . Would it be a good
idea
to have an introductory article about R in Linux Journal? I'm
half-tempted
to look at doing one myself, but I have a suspicion that such a thing
would
not be "the done thing" for a newbie ....:-)
I've seen intro articles on

New Quantian releases with almost all of CRAN / BioC
[ I hope this is not considered off-topic for the list:
A new Quantian release was just announced, and it contains even more R.
As before, we have R (now 2.2.1), ESS, Ggobi, Rpy, several BioInfo tools
-- but now we also have RSPerl, JGR, rJava and more. A full sync to CRAN
and BioC as of Feb 25, 2006 now yields dim(installed.packages())[1]
of 877. Feedback welcome, but

[Authlogic]
After I upgraded my Authlogic to 2.1.2 I''m facing an odd error when
trying to use my webpage; it comes up with an error ''undefined method
`^'' for "e":String''. I''ve double checked the lines in the Authlogic
code (see codepad urls for the tracelog), but I can find no trace of
any "^" in the code anywhere. The methods that result in

Date time problems
Has anyone experienced any date/time problems on Asterisk? I have
noticed it on earlier
builds and I believe on this build: CVS-02/16/04-23:57:06
Specifically, I have seen the following problems:
1. Change system time using the "date" command while Asterisk is
running. Asterisk does not
synchronize with new system time.
2. Daylight savings time goes on/off at the designated

Buddy watch?
Hi,
I am using Polycom 501 and I came across a problem. As soon as I have
incominglimit=1 in sip.conf, which is necessary for buddy watching, I
cannot transfer calls. On the console it tells me:
Call from user '3052' rejected due to usage limit of 1. Can someone
please tell me how to get around this problem?
(I don't know if this is relevant, but in the phone.cfg file, I have

[PATCH] bug #402249 - include <xen/*.h> header files
When you build Xen from source, the "make install" rule installs extra
header files such as <xen/xen.h> and <xen/dom0_ops.h> which are all
required for building libvirt. However the Debian package doesn't run
the install rule, but instead runs (effectively) "make -C tools install"
and that only installs a partial set of header files. In particular

Quota plugin, Maildir, dict backend loop problem
Hello,
I've been working with the quota plugin(s) the past few days and have
been having some real trouble. Only a few entries are appearing in the
database, a couple more when I restarted dovecot. None of the current
entries were being updated either.
I think I've tracked it down to somewhere in the dict backend. I put in
a few i_info() statements and recompiled. A few queries get
