Bastian, can you confirm the problem with "xm new" (instead of "xm create") ?

Bug#487249: [xen-utils-common] XenAPI authentification needs python-pam to work
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 3.2.0-2
Severity: wishlist
--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
PAM is the only middle to have an authentification with XenAPI. Without
python-pam, Xend silently refuses the authentication and the client have an
authentication error. With python-pam it works great.
Perhaps it should be intersting to have python-pam as a dependency ?

This bug is a duplicate of the bug #487165, but I tagged it as wishlist and I
have no answer about it. But I think it should be interesting to correct it,
sorry for this.

Bug#763102: xen-utils-common: xen-init-list fails to parse xm output -> cannot shutdown domains with service xendomains
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.4.0-5
Severity: important
Tags: patch
Hello,
xen-init-list fails to parse output of xen list -l when using XM toolstack.
Therefore, /etc/init.d/xendomains stop fails to shutdown any guests still
running on shutdown.
xen-init-list fails with the following message:

behaviour of ''xm block-attach'' changed with 3.1.2?
''xm block-attach'' doesn''t let me assign the same backend device anymore,
even if I use ''r!'' or ''w!''.
I think this has changed since 3.1.1 (or maybe since 3.1.0).
Is this the way it is supposed to work?
Thanks
James

I think it should be interesting to correct this bug into Lenny. Perhaps the
severity of this bug should be set to "normal" instead of "wishlist" ?

xend with XenAPI in stackless python-2.7
Hi,
I am using XEN-4.1.2 and linux-2.6.32 as dom0.
After I upgraded stackless python from 2.5 to 2.7 (and rebuilt xen).
XenAPI became unusable, I spent some time to investigate XenAPI,py, it
looks fine.
So, I guess xend has problem with python 2.7, because it always returned
method unknown.
Do I have to tweak xend to let it support python 2.7?
Thanks,
Eric

[PATCH] virt-what.in: Added VMware virt detection using cpuid in wrapper script
Brief discussion thread - http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/6/29/355
Added VMware detection via cpuid.Mimic'd VMware's balloon driver's init-time
check(cpuid followed by dmi-checks). Moved the existing logic into a simple
function to achieve that.
Tested virt-what.in(ran as a script) and virt-what-cpuid-helper within
a Linux guest on ESX. Thanks.

[PATCH] [xm] Fix vncdisplay for hvm guests
''vncdisplay=N'' in hvm config file is ignored when building qemu-dm
arguments.
xm create or xm new -> xm start with hvm config file containing
vnc=1
vncdisplay=5
results in ''-vncunused'' being passed to qemu-dm. There are several
approaches
for a fix - this patch defaults vncdisplay to None in xm options. It
currently defaults to 1 and is always included in

Migrate a share from Mac-OSX to NAS ASUSTOR samba 4.4
Hello everyone,
I hope you are well. Take care of yourself.
I have the same problem as describe here:
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2014-December/187545.html
I migrate a file share from a MAC-OS environment. For its new storage
system, the company purchased an ASUSTOR NAS. This NAS works with an
operating system based on version 4.14 of the GNU / LINUX x86_64 kernel.
This NAS operates a

AEL2 and CID
Does anyone know how to get CID working in AEL2 ?
In extensions.conf you can do:
exten => 111/666,1,PlayBack(demo-congrats)
exten => 111/666,2,Hangup()
exten => 111,1,PlayBack(demo-moreinfo)
exten => 111,2,Hangup()
and if callerid 666 dialed 111, they would get demo-congrats, everyone
else gets demo-moreinfo.
In AEL:
111 => {
Playback(demo-moreinfo);

pip provider
I am running puppet 2.7.9 and using the pip provider.
The package gets/is installed but puppet installs it on every run. Do
other people run into this. I tried search bugs and the group and
have not seen any mention of it.
